tips for turbo removal/refit?

right,
the turbo's 90% off but I can't get the feckin support bracket off!
the bolt at the turbo end is solid.
is it easier to take the bracket off the engine side?
if so what's the best way?
they're hex bolts and my hex sockets are too long and foul the drive shaft.
any bright ideas?

Take it off still connected to the turbo.

As above leave it connected to turbo and just lift it out the top
