Even with ditch finders you should still be able to control wheelspin with your foot, just be more progressive.

In honesty though Id get rid if you cant afford decent rubber. High powered FWDs need their rubber;)

this time of year is a pain even on good tyres. bad weather, bad roads, and if you have not so good tyres even worse. Be gentle on the throttle and use the clutch until you got traction.

Better tyres IS a myth, ask the pro's...'The racing tyre is constructed from very soft rubber compounds which offer the best possible grip against the texture of the racetrack, but wear very quickly in the process' -http://www.formula1.com/inside_f1/understanding_the_sport/5283.html

Not jus F1 either, it doesn't take a genius to realise it

Yes racing tyres are soft but they do more than just go in a straight line. I have a set of Yokohama AD08's on my Lupo, I've also ran the car with "cheaper" tyres.....The cheaper tyres don't even compare. The AD08's are consistent and the cheaper tyres last a few laps and then they're gone and then don't have any grip and sliding all over the place. Ok a road car obviously you're not driving to this extreme but just saying that more expensive tyres do have there place and also most people do more than floor it in a straight line. I wouldn't want to take a corner at any sort of speed with cheap tyres

I took the fronts off the tdi last week so I could take them in for two new michelins and put two of my spares on with some sort of cheap Tarmac road burners on and Christ what a difference. Car was very understeery! Cheap = potential death!

You're a bit of a tool, clearly. It's costing too much so you're getting rid, but also wondering if an LSD would help (it wouldn't, but it would cost you £800+ to find out), and then moaning cos you can't afford decent tyres?

Sell your 19s, buy smaller wheels, get good tyres. Problem solved for a lot less than the £800+ a fitted LSD would cost you.

I'm blatantly not a tool that's why I've come on here and asked if I was a tool I'd believed the lad that told me and gone and got it all!! People like you are no help. It turns out any wat ma cars all ready got that stuff on.

we are not on about going round corners tho...i did say that cheap tyres will decrease handling

oh and by the way i promote street racing on seat cupra net because i have a life and i dont drive my car like an old fart :)
cupra's and R's are road legal as standard and are designed to hit speeds well over the legal limit...thats why people buy them-to drive them like 'a bit of a bellend'

Just as long as you don't street race down my street and hit one of my kids or being a bellend will be the least of you're worries pal! Times and places! I put my foot down but not in built up areas! A bugatti veyron can do 250mph+ . does that mean it has to do it all the time? That's road legal

Thanks for peoples opinions on wat I can do as for the others mainly the senior members you could do with getting some manners it's not hard just to say get some better tyres instead of going through everything that I have said and dissecting it bit by bit and then coming up with some smart comment. Me and cobbers commute up and down the a1 on a weekly basis and ther is no harm in having a bit of a play on the outside lane. I've got a family on the way so you wdnt see me driving like a bellend in a built up area but put me on a empty open road and yes I'll take advantage of the fact it's empty.

Cuprakaye didn't say you mate! Cobbers is the one who promotes street racing! Everyone on here speeds I think it's just racing round narrow streets etc is wrong! :redcard:

I don't usually spin my wheels when I'm in the outside lane on any road! Off the line yes! And you should be able to lose a corsa! You still got you're stabilizers on? :moon:
