Lmao! Thats what i'm saying really. Obviously, fair bloody play if he can afford a boc! I certainly couldn't at 17. At college and working in Waitrose lol.

tbf at 17 i had a well payed job in a factory while doing my a levels and then wasnt that badly payed as a bouncer through uni.


Best i could afford was my mk1 leon tdi which was a class above most students but there will always be the kids whos dad buys there car. I reckon theres quite a few on here tbh, not calling them spoilt as any parent would do the same if they could but i doubt anyones gonna admit it due to the way people on the internet would see em.
 
My first car was a Mk 1 VW Golf, on an old V plate. I "think" it was @ £800. Paid for it from my savings account from birthday & Xmas money from family/relatives accrued over the years as a kid. Thankfully dad covered the insurance and tax as I didnt have enough :(
(£174 for my first year insurance - 1991 that was!)
To be honest, it was my favourite car of all time. What a peach. Gladly have another to work on as a project etc.
If there are some on here who are lucky enough to have been given their cars, good luck to em, and I hope they appreciate it!!

Felt I had to post at last.I am 65(66 in July)semi retired from work having given up my 2.0 litre scirocco last December(company car).Bought my red cupra last September.Mods so far inc. H&R lowering springs,Milltek cat back exhaust, Forge upgraded BOV.Stage 1 revo. Air horns. Loving every minute.Pics when I can.

Agree with that I had to buy all my own cars. But... If my parents could have afforded it they would have helped me out.
I hope when I have kids that I can afford to buy them their first motor :)

No one with the sports seems to stick with them for very long. I'll be the only one around here with one soon.
