Trading Ibiza FR tdi for a Leon FR tdi

Hi, I just wanted to check this deal I have been offered to change to a Leon FR TDI;
Im wanting to trade my Sept 2004 Ibiza FR TDI for a Leon FR TDi and have been offered a June 2005 Demonstrator platinum grey one with 7k miles although it hasnt got the CupraR facelifted bumpers/alloys for 12,800 and only around 8,000 for my ibiza.

I got them down a bit on the Leon but they wont go any lower (I tried everything!) and the value of my Ibiza gave me a shock.....

I WANT to take the deal as I definately know its the right car for me and its also the last Leon FT TDI for sale in all of Northern Ireland as I been hunting on the Internet!!

Is this too much to pay for a MK1 Leon FR??

yeah i definately want it but wanted to make sure im not getting ripped off!
I like it better than the new Leon and my budget couldnt stretch to one of the top models.

Im not completely bothered about not having the CupraR facelift as I have always said I do like the the current bumpers and wheels and maybe after a good while I could always change them.

I see your avator has the same platinum FR with the same bumpers, are you happy with them or would you rather have the CupraR ones? How do you rate the car and the colour etc?

I am going on Wednesday to sign the papers and pick up the car though it isnt too late if I find out its a bad deal or I find another one.

Im feeling like a kid at xmas again, cant wait til Wednesday!

No mate just did the same thing I got Leon Fr+ ex Demo with 5,000 on the clock in Inverness Paid £13995 got £9095 for 04 Ibiza FR dont know if I paid over the odds but wanted Leon before all gone new shape does not do it for me if you want it go for it.

Im the same, I want one before they are all gone and it is the last one available in N.ireland already.

I hardly ever see any on the roads over here. I have seen only 1 Leon FR and only 1 cupra (Ibiza). I like that though, if its more rare.
I cant believe how many there are about in England etc, it must be because car-insurance is so much more expensive over here.

Im now more than happy to be picking it up on Wednesday!

Good Luck mate we always pay more up here in the frozen Highlands it feels a better car than Ibiza more solid you wont regret it.

I love the car, to be honset i prefer the regular FR/Cupra bumpers i have, its a great colour too hides the dirt very well

Going in for its first service (and an armrest fitted) on tuesday so hopefully the dealers will be like the car (brilliant)

Got a better deal...

An update...

I found a better deal in belfast, instead of the one i was due to pick up on Wednesday which was standard, no FR+ bumpers etc I have found a red FR TDI with Cupra R bumpers and wheels with less miles (5k) and got it for slighly cheaper at 12,800.
It has slighly different badging, it has just LEON across the midle of the boot and nothing else then the FR badges on both wings but these look different as the F and R are both red? Still it actually looks good on the red car...

Do you think this is a bargain? (I do! )

Picking it up in the morning, cant wait..

Thats a good deal mate - I paid 13,500 for the same - my badges (FR) are red with LEON spaced out in the middle...

Its taken a couple of k to loosen up a bit, just getting better everyday!

Red is a pain to keep clean though - as with any car this time of yr

Yes mate, getting it at ladas Drive, picking it up tomorrow. I think ive got a great deal especially after what Wilsons of Rathkenny offered.

I like the look of your leon, wish i could have found a black one but maybe thats being greedy! Do you live in Belfast?

They have a brand new Black Magic Cupra R just arrived, not registered yet and it will be going for 15,000, probably go for about 14,500, wish our damn insurance wasnt so dear over here!
They also have a platinum grey 2005 registered Leon Cupra with only 10 miles on the clock up for 12,995! It has the old shape alloys before the FR ones but has the FR bumpers.

The guys in there seem very dead on, i was told I can re-map it and it wont affect the warranty, so thats a bit of peace of mind if i decide to do it sometime.

I'd want to be getting that in writing if youre seriously going to consider re-mapping the car. If you do re-map it then it WILL affect the warranty.

hey mate i got my car out of there and yea they seem sound enough. I live in bangor, im sure u've seen my car about have you? I'd love a black fr+ if i could find one, prob is insurance, i still dont have a ncb yet and drivin under my mums insurance!

That must have been you I seen last Friday morning on the Rathgael Road.
You were driving towards the Rathgael Road roundabout, i passed you before the garage....

Thats the first time ive seen a Black leon with Cupra or CupraR bumpers anywhere. I waved just as you drove past, dont know if you saw me, my girl thought I was a twat waving at another SEAT when i didnt know them!!

Hope I can catch you about again in a garage or somewhere for a chat, i wouldnt mind having a wee look at your mods...

your old ibiza will be on the forecourt for 9995 in that spec, so i reckon you would have easily got 9k if you sold it private.

Your probably right Ant but with the car wrapped up in finance i got a good settlement i thought and also managed to get a good bit off the total finance in the end.
I have been wanting to change for ages, ive needed the 5 doors.
Someone will pick up a great car when they buy the Ibiza FR TDI as I loved it and looked after it but ive got what i need now so im happy....
