I've given up with all my theories, it's either fine for a couple of weeks (thought was related to 12v battery SoC), pings once at startup and remains off all journey, or is pinging constantly as it engages and almost immediately disengages (thought related to phone signal).
Calling the dealer tomorrow for a no doubt extended faff about while they a.) try to confirm it (where it will no doubt go into two weeks perfect behaviour) and then b.) fix it.

As per most others with the same a problem, a new steering wheel is required. However, they’re on back order, probably due to the volume required so who knows when it’ll be available.
In other news, after parking the car in torrential rain the other night, when I drove off the following morning there was a louder ping than normal as I drove away as the rear pads released from being stuck to the (corroding) discs and a subsequent knocking noise when the rear near side brake engaged at lower speeds.
The Dealer Tech (in the vehicle health video they send you) noticed the rusty discs and recommended, to prevent the discs corroding, to knock the gearbox into neutral and then braking to engage the rear brakes fully as the car won’t regenerate in neutral.
The good news is a new rear pad is available (with different pad material) to presumably prevent the pads sticking to the disc, which will be fitted under warranty when the replacement steering wheel arrives.
If your car's still in warranty I'd get the steering wheel replaced, otherwise if you leave it and it degrades to failing without the heated steering wheel being on, you wouldn't want to pay yourself!
This is happening to me more and more over the last few months. At first I thought it was a problem with the sensors and bad weather. But recently the weather has been bright. Even after cleaning the car and all the sensors the problem is still there. It even sometimes comes on when I first start the car immediately I get the beeps and yellow warning lights. It happens multiple times on a journey also. It is getting very frustrating. Has anybody who has had a steering wheel replacement seen this issue solved?
Yes, wheel replaced last Friday - no more errors (touch wood).
Just thought I’d update the thread. I am having the steering wheel replaced next Friday so I shall post again once I have had time to test whether it solves the issue.
My car is no longer under warranty, otherwise I would have ask for a replacement indeed.
But in fact, steering wheel repalcement is a temporary fix. The problem come back after several months...
This is so sad that only Skoda has offered a software fix at the moment.
Have had a new steering wheel now for about 2 weeks and up to now have had no more issues with travel assist errors etc. Fingers crossed it has solved the issue.
I had this problem over a year ago on my VZ2, this is my 4th year of ownership, I had months of pinging on every journey, the Steering Wheel was replaced under warrenty and I did'nt have any problems but now over the past week or so It has come back.
Hi All, I bought a 2020 Cupra leon in feb from a UK garage, the travel assist and SOS errors started pinging intermittently after a week or so of the purchase so I googled it and found this thread, which told me the steering wheel needed replacing.
After about 4 visits back to the dealer who took it to a Seat garage to asses, they finally agreed it needed a new steering wheel. As it was just out of warrantee the garage agreed to a 70/30 split with the dealer and they replaced the steering wheel for a new one. Straight away the errors disappeared and seemed to be fixed.
The errors have just returned. The faults have pinged on 4 separate journeys in a week.
I was hoping the new steering wheel fix the faults but apparently not.
Has anyone replaced the steering wheel and experienced the error returning after a period of time? and if so have you managed to get rid of the errors once and for all?

That's you telematics box that needed doing which causes the pinging. May be the infotainment software got updated which fixed it, then updated again. But according to @East Yorkshire Retrofits who are the experts the telematic box is what needs to be swapped out. The steering wheel thingy I've never got why Leon4 people were changing them ?. Just liked the buttons but there is probably some other reason.
All Vag cars were pinging with mib3 and the telematics boxes from 2020...

When I booked in this time I asked for Steering wheel to be ordered as it is obvious that is the problem and it took me a month too book in for this diagnostic. Anyway they didn't order it and now after it;s visit today it is on back order.. so 1 year in I am still waiting.
I have a long trip to Prague to do next week and wanted it to be working well as will be a boon on the Autobahn's! So annoyed..

I solved the problem as in the video. it is still working.
it solved it for now, I would by a new module on the aliexpress but i can't find any for Seat hybrid 2020. it is maybe like this for Golf MK8 or maybe Golf GTE KLR Steering Wheel Module Today the infotainment would not start, but by holding turn on button for more than 10 sec it will restart and then there was no problem.

it is maybe only a bad connection in the telematics box like in this Golf MK8 bad connection maybe no need for a new box, but only this little part.
