I bought the simoniz one a couple of months ago to see what it was like. Wasn't bad!

The bottle had now broke after only using it a couple of times so have had to stick it in the bin. Has anyone else tried something similar from a different brand that they'd recommend?

Had it's uses for trim inside the car but also used it on the outside seals and splitter and thought it came up quite good.

Cheers guys. Both look good stuff. Do u know if the autoglym viynl and rubber care stuff is any good? Could do with some more polish as well so was thinking I might take advantage of the 3 for 2 offer down halfords.

The AG stuff is good but i like the Poor Boys due to it not being silicone based....doesnt leave a slick greasy finish. Just makes everything look clean like new.

AG bumper care (as it used to be called) was my product of choice for years but i found that even after buffing off the residue it still left the finish too glossy for my tastes.

I use CG's New Look Trim Gel now but only for exterior trim, i give that a buff after half an hour or so to take the excess product off and it lasts well.

For the interior i use nothing more than Megs APC on a MF cloth, it cleans the surfaces perfectly and doesnt leave any residue behind.

i just use back to black tyre shine on all the black plastics parts on the outside of the car tried it on the window screen wipers too but leaves a greasy look.

want to use something else though see which is better

cheers for the advice guys. Think i'll steer away from AG as im not a fan of the really glossy look.

Secret for good looking trim is to make sure it is really clean. Get an appropriate brush and some All Purpose Cleaner and scrub them clean. It should bring back the natural look of the plastic/rubber. Once its clean then treat it with the products mentioned above.

I used parade gloss boot polish on the Punto plastics and they came up quite well. Not sure if anyone else has tried it ?

yep, I have told everyone about groundnut oil now (well all the mk2 boys/girls lol)

tesco's = 1.58 for a litre, never have to buy again

put on with a lint-free cloth, and rub in, then buff in :)
