Tsi Rattle Solved

Finally managed to get hold of the wastegate actuator clip I have read about on the other VAG forums which arrived today.
Car up on ramps and fitted in about five minutes once turbo had cooled down and am very pleased to say that the pea in a bean can noise has completly disappeared.

Have a slight initial rattle on full load on mine - what was your problem and which clip exactly needs fitting?

this was the original problem as identified in a vw tech brief

VW have issued guidance on this noise as follows...

Rattling or jarring noise from the engine compartment / exhaust system when accelerating between 2400 and 3000 rpm .

Technical background

Waste gate adjustment rod of the turbo charger rattles when accelerating.

and the part number used to fix it was - 06J145220A

its just a clip that goes over the wastgate actuator arm on the turbo
