How much are these going for. is it big money to do, as i am thinking about binning the Brembo's and may upgrade to these later on. I was only gonna put em on more for looks, but to be honest i think this year may just be remap. cos i really need to start saving for this house i want.

plus cna shift the Brembo's on ebay for nice money as mine look brand new:p

i read somewher that the 312mm conversion is £250 ISH, is that right.

cheers

I assume these make a huge difference to the standard equipment?? I did notice (when i brought my Ibiza home) that compared to my previous Bora, the brakes were a little pathetic?!

Does this kit DEFINATELY fit the ibiza? think its going to be a must after the map!!

I got mine fitted by techie and he charged me £100.
These are a must if you cant afford the brembo's and are going down the remap route. They do fit behind the standard wheels on the fr and sport.
IIRC i paid 220+40p+p and then 100quid for techie to fit, but well worth it imho.
Hope that helps ant.

yes he does and yes they are

EDIT so much so , i bought a set
Stoney knows as he nearly went through the window  and that was in the wet with crap tyres.
They are so much better than standard ones, much more feel to the pedal and once theyre up to temperature you only need to press the pedal down slightly and you stop very quickly.

Tis true about the bumper!! But that will be sorted very very soon!!

Bet he didnt tell you how he nearly killed me whilst taking a roundabout too quick!! I thought the car was on a bungee or something-when i looked out the side window all i could see was tarmac, then bang....back up again!!

Get it sorted Stoney!! :p

Perhaps I should be considering a brake upgrade along with the remap.

Is it okay to just upgrade the front brakes without doing anything to the rears? Does it upset the balance under braking - is there any danger of the back end getting too light and stepping out?

I suppose it'll be alright in a straight line, but I wonder what would happen if somebody's a bit of a plonker and brakes heavily while going round a bend.

What's the reason for choosing TT brakes rather than the 312mm brakes off a Cupra?

How do insurance companies respond when you try to declare the brake mod?

One more question: The link above says that the TT brake kits have delivery mileage on them. So does that mean there's a load of brand new TTs driving around with no front brakes? Or do some TT drivers prefer the brown-trouser effect of fitting Ibiza brakes to their new toy? :)

You'll be fine just upgrading the fronts as the rears hardly do any work anyway. Check spaniels' other thread for the effects of upgrading the rear brakes.

I think they've been upgraded to Brembos and the like, as don't forget that the TT is a heavier and generally quicker car than the Ibiza, so people would like confidence in their brakes.

One more really dumb question:

Looking at the golfturbo site, it's not clear what you get for your £225. For that money, do you get both front wheel sets or is that the price for one wheel set?

If it's £225 for the whole lot it seems a pretty good buy.
