mr muscle

ive been using mr muscle to clean the egr and turbo veins for ages
IT WORKS
mr muscle is basically a carbon remover
when your oven is dirty its carbon and it cleans that off so why not in a turbo?

I did the me muscle trick on my mk1 yesterday at work.

Found a nozzle with a very long pipe attachment on it that fitted the can perfectly so got right down into the turbo. Took off the EGR outlet as well as the down pipe and filled it from both ends working the actuator every 10mins or so.

Took it for a blast afterwards and it no longer overboosts in 1st 2nd or 3rd.

4th still goes a tad over the 1.6 bar it's mapped for to about 1.8bar but not over 2 bar like it was.

I've got 2 lots of Forte turbo cleaner for free from a rep that comes to our work so will try those as well as it's meant to work well.

Indeed... but if you believe the hype from the snake oil salesman it also has a positive cleaning effect on the intake side as well.

I'm dubious about the I take cleansing personally but I know a few peeps who have been Terracleaned with good positive affect

I can personally say I got an extra 42 miles out of my tank and my mpg went up by 4. Throttle response was smoother on amd off and it was noticeablly nippier. Literally a drive away difference. Those that get no real difference obviously had cars that were not clogged up to the extent that they would notice it.

Google ed china terraclean and have a read or watch his videos. Basically its a chemical that was originally engineered as an alternative fuel, but it was deemed non viable due to cost. However during all the research it was discovered that the engines it was tested on were restored to a very clean state and were decarbonised etc. As such it was reengineered as a cleaning product for the fuel system. I believe it works by positive and negative particles affecting each other and causing the breakdown. It is said to clean the fuel system, injectors and cat etc as it works its way out through the exhaust system. Its scientifically proven to work.

I've got 2 bottles of fortè turbo cleaner which basically goes into the fuel and once injected turns to a vapour that clings to the carbon built up on the turbo and softens it up.

After it's softened it up through idling for 40mins you go for a blat and it all frees up and falls off. (In theory)

Yet to try it though.
