hi people!

in need of some more advice from you guys! ive got a 03 plate cupra R amk. I have noticed that I have a turbo flutter under high boost, sometimes it flutters under light boost but very rarely, its usually when I start giving the car a hammering, it will flutter,
The car has a Forge 008 valve, front mount intercooler, n249 bypass with 4mm IDvacuum piping and a bmc cone filter with heatshield, its usually okay up to 0.5 bar but anymore then that when driven with bit of a heavy foot it will flutter.

any ideas??

flutter under boost at only a little more over 0.5bar is very unusual

flutter on spool on set on aggressive boost is possible but thats >1.2-1.5bar or more boost, and once past 4500rpm it would pass once engines consuming the air...

What colour spring is in your 008?

Check this - The stronger the spring the less it will open at lower boost pressures (it's an attempt to prevent the gauge from leaking boost at higher pressures IIRC)

Green spring = 5 - 15 PSI
Yellow = 15 - 23 PSI
Blue = 23 - PSI

Been a while since I've owned a turbo petrol car mind you...

Should i be able to move the actuator arm freely? There is a bit of resistance there but doesnt feel alot.
Cause this cause the stutter/flutter?

I used to get a tiny bit of flutter if I gave if 80% throttle and then lifted off just as the turbo spooled.
I wouldn't do it intentionally but occasionally it would happen.
My LCR however was remapped with Jetex and 007P so maybe it was just the sound of the air rushing around

Yeah it's a strange one, I'm gonna get anew actuator and clean forge 008 valve. Just wanna sort it out lol
