Been working away little by little, Cupra137 is coming down on Sunday to get the brakes and arb done. Undersealing finished by Sunday hopefully. Painting up a few little bits. Wings should be here Monday and get it all assembled again. Getting it logged and then I'll be focusing on bringing the speed. ;)

Heres my arches before and after, what a mess, first coat of underseal on.

This was a shock, the same on all 4 corners, cars full of surprises. Cleaned up, primered and painted, not the best of jobs but you'll never see it and it shouldn't rust again

Working on fixing the important bits.

Peace of piss to fix mate, the insurance would write it off for that though due to its age.

I've got a lot of front end parts going ;) non yellow though. Brings back memories of my ovni getting killed ;(

Think I'm gonna need to put Cupra137 on the payroll. Thanks manny.

Car's now about 20 different shades of ovni but it runs :D Just got lots of little jobs to do, including washing it. I've got a new bumper to go on and some point. ;)

No bother bud, good to see it back on the road again. Im getting fed up of seeing the other 2 ovni's dawdling about with no real boooooost. Give us a shout if you need anymore help, or if the hinges don't solve it
:banghead2

Prepare for the worst pic ever...and yes that is a massive crack in my windscreen. :headhurt:

But yeah, ones in, needs a bit of tweeking before I'm completely happy. Certainly makes getting out of the car interesting.

Feels pretty good in the corners, still sits a bit low for me.

Encountered problem #567834

Battery light came on the other day, couple of days later battery dies.

Weighed up my options. £180 pounds for an alternator or £20 for alternator regulator. So the cheaper option was bought.

Here's the regulator, you can see how worn the prongs on the old regulator(left) was.

All fitted and back in. Battery charging as normal and the light gone from the dash.

I reckon it's just about doable to get this replaced without taking the alternator off but the screws where so tight on mine I took the whole alternator off instead. Good excuse to check the belt and tensioner anyway. You can get these regulators from Ebay, hopefully save a couple of you a few pennies.

So I had this booked in for it's MOT the other week. Basically I failed for emissions being +10% So something is seriously wrong, I'm changing the CTS, lamda and a couple of vac lines that were completely split or snapped.

The main problem though was the manifold to turbo leaking, front bolt was doing nothing but rattling around, the rears didn't seem tight either. So the turbo is out, very oily but no play in the shaft, it looks like the oil feed was leaking, not sure how bad it's been starved of oil but it's been sent to Dan at Beach Buggy for some fettling and his actuator.

One oily turbo.

2 completely ruined bolts, no wonder it was leaking. The front one was snapped off.

So that'll be the car off the road for another couple of weeks but I've bought one of the big green cotton filters, tempted by a new intercooler and then I'll be getting it logged and some map tweeks. Probably not gonna see much power gains but hopefully more reliable power. [B)]

So not much to update, my turbo has been sitting in a depo in Aberdeen for a week now, failed to be picked up and delivered. I've phoned every and every day I've been promised delivery for tomorrow. Dan at Beach Buggy has been very apologetic but it's hardly his fault. If it doesn't come tomorrow I'll need to cancel my MOT on Monday, which is more time and money wasted. So a big **** YOU to Collect Plus.

In other news,

Beaded pipework, cheers Andrew.

Green cotton filter

I picked up lots of nice bits from Ginge.

4Bar pump fitted, looks like it's never been touched.

3" Downpipe, hopefully release some of that back pressure. Just need a bung welded in the for the AFR gauge.

Here's how the front end is looking just now with the new bumper, needs a clean as per.

Changed the ABS sensors and fixed up some of the wiring as well. So it's ready for the MOT...I just don't have a turbo... :headhurt:

Picked up at Stage 2 ECS clutch from Ginge which will need to get fitted at some point as well.

Nice tomsee the work cracking on bud, how far from mot now? Mines running now too, need to sort an exhaust leak, check fault codes etc then mot :) exciting aint it? Haha
