Turbo surge?

Hi,

When I'm at say 2k rpm. I can accelerate and feel a slight push back in my seat (depending on the gear) for about a second, then it will accelerate at what i think is normal.

I can just about hear my turbo (the car is all standard) and can actually hear it spool up and then slightly down after this 1 second of power.

Is this the actuator at fault?

You mean it accelerates and you can feel the turbo spooling but then it stops?

It feels as though the turbo just boosts a little less after that one second of "more" boost. I know its still boosting, just at less of a pressure.

N75 valve and Diverter Valve are easy places to start. They only last about a decade, so if they've never been replaced you can tick those off the list of suspects.

Also a good idea to scan for fault codes, just with a cheap £10 eBay reader.
