I'm a little confused I have just checked blackcircles.com and they have this tire 4 times ranging from £67 upto £105 I can't work out why they're the same tire only thing that changes is the speed rating from Y92 to Y88 on the more expensive ones...

Went for the £67 tyre and they are exactly the same as the 2 more expensive tyres that i had to purchase at an earlier date for the MOT. Its the speed rating.
Im never going to go 130mph+ so i didnt bother.

thats a load rating isnt it, as far as i know the LCR requires a load rating of 90 or 91 as a minimum.

It's not a better load rating, it's a higher load rating. Probably means stiffer sidewalls.

I got Michelin Primacy 3 on my Fr 150 TDi. Bought them a year ago and need replacing soon well very soon ;) I do tend to chew tyres so I might not be representative. Breaking is excellent in any condition, wet, dry , cold you name it. Long distance its really good on fuel, I drove to the Hungarian GP last year and on the way back cruising along Europe 90mph back to the UK I needed 2 and a half tanks of fuel.

I had Bridgestone Potenza ER300 sadly they don't make them anymore, I liked them very much because they were silent on tough cornering very good characteristics if you don't want extra attention ;)

Pirellis are overrated, noisy and not much grip

I noticed all the new leons come with Continental what do you think of them?

probably 453s I think they are.

but for £100 a corner you can get the goodyear f1s fitted and there is a night and day difference..

Ours came with Bridgestone's, soon as they are worn out Goodyear F1's going on.The Passat came with Conti sports on, ok tyre but wore really quick. It's on Goodyear's now.
And remember if you fit tyres of a lower speed rating or load index than that specified you are invalidating your insurance.
