Tyre width Question

need peoples advice,

I need to replace all for tyres on my astra, at the moment i am running 225/40/R18, just like the cupra R.

would it be better to fit 235/40/R18 or stick with the original width?

depends, did you put the 18s on the astra?
if it came from factory with them on its set-up for 225/40 or the speedo will be slightly out

there are converters on the web that will work out for you if your speedo will be out and also how much space you will have from changing dimensions

The car came with 18s. was hoping that the extra width might stop my kurbing the wheels

in that case you should really stick with 225/40
just get tyres that have a rim protection lip
