Hi all,

Just put some 17" team dynamics on my ibiza. The tyres arent very ow profile and so around some sharper corners it rubs slightly. Are there any fixes apart from getting lower tyres?

Thanks

ok i will have to do that then i guess just more money on 4 tyres! I can't have 205 can i because that wouldn't fit the alloy? I can only alter the 40 number? It rubs over some bumps so i'm alright driving it on them until i get in some money? Is there anywhere that would trade tyres as these havent done many miles... Thanks.

Does your profile name have anything to do with your rubbing problem?

205/40/17 on 17" alloys with 7j or 7.5j...

i run 205 on the front and 215 on the rear but i have that to look meaty at the back :)

haha no it wasnt meant to be!

Ok thanks for the help. Do you find the 215 is a noticeable difference. Is there also a market for second hand tyres that haven't done many miles cos i would like to get back some of my losses! Also does the load index include the weight of the car? Is 84 enough?

Thanks

Is your car lowered at all?

I'm currently looking at some 215/45 17's and my suspension is totally standard, would I still get problems with this?

yes they do rub, they have worn in a bit no but down certain roads where the bump moves the whole car they do rub, also ragging it around a roundabout does it too, you will also need to be careful of the offset of the wheel because when full locking the wheel i literally have 2-3mm space! So yes you would get away with it but if go down lanes or anything go slower because they do rub.
