Uh Oh! Warning Lights Finally!

Just came home from work went to go out turned the ignition on and i got 2 amber lights on my dash

the traction control light and engine management. The car runs fine and doesnt go into gimp mode! it boosts like normal i hear all normal induction sounds etc. I tried pushing the TCS button but nothing.

Anybody had this before?

Can I manually reset the ECU without vagcom?

this sounds like what happens when the maf is unplugged??

just had a quick look the plugs in fine and tight

yeah but if its fecked.... time will tell

read the codes if you can,
or clear the codes and see if they come back

if it was a TCS problem then engine management light should still come on

how can i reset the ecu w/o vagcom?

disconnect the battery

ok for how long? would this reset my revo to stock?

You won't lose your Revo map by disconnecting the battery. 30 mins should be long enough.

even after 1 minute the fault codes will be gone


revo shouldnt be affected although might require re-adapting afterwards (by driving it)

i disconnected the battery positive terminal for 2 minutes but lights still on im guessing i should leave it 30 mins as peter097 said??

you could try but to clear a fault code takes no time at all

if they reappear usually it means the problem persists

the manual says its TCS or ABS im guessing without VAGCOM i cant really look at any plugs etc to try before hand?

no mate, concentrate on vagcom, not worth guessing

could always ask if someone local could help

just bought myself a vag-com cable from fleebay better start readin the manual lol

Anyone figure what this was as exactly the same problem happened to my cupra yesterday. TCS is just switched off and I the button does nothing.
