guys, i purchased this item from ebay for the tidy sum of £65 delivered:

Universal-Twin-sided-11.jpg

and have so far cut the crash bar to allow room for it to fit, here you can see the 3" outlet

i used some steel straps from B&Q here to hold the intercooler in place and bolted it top and bottom

i decided to paint the fmic black to give it that stealth look

i also had to use some 3" to 2.5" 45 degree silicone reducers.

from my measurements, i should still be able to retain the fogs :D

tomorrow, i am hoping to put the wheels back on and go to my local exhaust place and get them to mandrel bend some pipes for me.

i have to manage to fit the Forge map pipe in the pipework somewhere!

i will post more pics of the progress when i can.

What are you doing for pipe work etc?? guessing as its a universal fmic youl need all custom metal pipes?

Not knocking it but those brackets look naff! :cartman:

Could you move the cooler up so the top outlet goes under the headlight like the Forge kit? would make the pipe run smoother.

If cooler is lower then cross member you will struggle to get bumper on.

regarding the brackets, they were only temporary and have been realced with some more permanent welded ones.

you cant move the cooler too high as the bumper wouldnt fit, the forge ones have the outs lets at the very top and bottom of the cooler, on mine they are too central.

the pipework ws a bit of a nightmare to fit due to mating it with the forge map pipe, it way too long and had to be cut down.

sadly, i mot probably will have to lose the fogs, but will work at it.

here's a pic of how it looks currently:

bumper does on ok, have had to 'break away' some plastic trim from the inside of the bumper where the brackets are sitting.

i think to get the fogs to fit, i would have the change the silicone hoses from 45 degree bends to 90 degree bends and make the piping go under the fog light (appears to be enough space).

As i have to collect the wife and kids from the outlaws tomorrow (Yorkshire) and i will have to make sure everything fits ok for now. i will keep you guys updated on how things go.

R33f, would love to help you fella, let me get mine sorted out then hopefully i can advise you on what you need to make life a bit easier.

Fitted the same one to my cupra about 14 months ago. I fixed it higher so that the top cooler pipe went under the headlight. Works a treat too with no more lag really.

My first cooler was bit bigger then that and I mounted it level with the bottom of headlights so I'd say you could move it up quite a bit and run pipe under headlight if you wanted.
