hi all, i had many plans for this evening as i had to do some work for m.o.t :headhurt:

i had to change wishbone bushes but decided to buy compleate new wishbones with bushes already in to save some time. I was also going to fit my coilovers.

first problem was that pedro had tightend every nut and bolt up so f*****g much but got them undone untill we came to the anti roll bar. The hanger just snappe din two when trying to undo. these went on both sides. unfortuntly there is no shops open at 7.30pm

so any way, we thought we would carry on with the installation of the coilies... we then stumbled again! when we took the coilovers apart to grease up i noticed that we were one washer/seperator missing inbetween the two springs! so we could then only fit the front two! :(

What A Pain In The Arse.

i know have to contact phil from jackson tuning to get something sorted out. unfortuntly my mot will probably run out before its sorted..... im now going to have to get somebody to machine me a replica so i can carry on with the installation.

does anybody now if you can buy the anti roll bar hangers over the counter?

cheers

crezz :)

The drop link you mean???

It's hard to get them from factors as you need one which is slightly offset, so it's better off going to the main dealer. But when you go in and order a drop link they will just get you the actual drop link, no bushes, no washers or no nut.

Drop Link - 6K0411315
Bush - 6N0411329 x2
Washer - 861411331 x2
Nut - N 90635001

(above are the part numbers for one drop link)

That will come to £28 odd per drop link.

And they will have to order them in...so if you do it today you wont have them till tuesday. I've been there beofre mate, when I changed my lower arms to fit the powerflex bushes!

I always believe when replacing parts you should use the same parts! It's hard enough getting the drop link onto the anti roll bar with the correct bore. Sounds like it's the Mk2 Golf drop link they have in stock... it as a 19mm arb where the Ibiza got 20mm.

Personaly I would get the right ones fella! :)

cheers for your help mate. got it sorted in the end. out of all the dealers and spare parts places there was only one set availiable. unfortuntly they were 16mm bore and wernt offset. a quich use of a hacksaw and a welder made light work of it....seem stronger then the original. bit of a squeeze to get the bush on, but done it.

and best of all, they were only £3 each rather then £28 each.

thanks again

yeah i want to wind the rear up but it just seems to be compressing the helper spring and not adjusting the height?

wind the locking bolt downwards and then tighten the top bolt on the strut, once u raise it by a few threads wind the lower one up to tighten it into place using the C spanner.

I work for GSF and we sell the offset ones for the MK2.

We never used to, when my Cordy SX 16v ones broke I had to get them from SEAT.

That's good to know, hopefully GSF will supplyy everything you need not just the drop link alone like the dealers do.... even after you ask "is there anything else I need??"

Thank god for VagCat I say lol

All GSF branches also have ETOS (like ETKA but for all VAG brands) so we can print off pages and you can show us what you need.

I'm not trying to advertise as we don't pay for it on here, but I was amazed at how much SEAT stuff we do, there's a lot of stuff I thought was dealer only that we stock at all times. It's not just GSF though, its worth trying all your local factors with part numbers, you might be lucky and find they have what you need in stock.
