unusual noise when stationary

I noticed that there is a strange noise when car is stationary, i.e on traffic lights etc.

Dont laugh! It sounds like very faint engaged/busy telephone tone. Hardly audible but if stereo is off and climate control isnt working you can just about hear it. Beeep Beeep Beeep.

Its there pretty much since I had a car, few months and it only has 7k on the clock.

I'm wondering if anyone else noticed it or is it unusual and should i take it to the dealer?

I also have a ticking noise from the aircon flap every now and then but its different. Had a quick look using search but couldnt find anything similar.

Heated mirror relay?
Test by turning off by selecting L or R on mirrors switch

no, its deffo not that as I always have mirror heating turned off. Plus its not ticking, its just very faint sound like this - http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/File:NorthAmericanBusySignal.ogg
maybe slightly slower frequency

Not much help I know but I had this on my 57 plate FR DSG

My girlfriend heard it and asked what it was but I never found out...assume its gone from the FL FR

Never had any probs with my FR so didnt get it checked out

I have noticed this myself when stationary and in drive with foot on brake I think its the DSG box clutch engaging and disengaging , try taking out of gear think you will find it stops
