Just for comparison my update completed last night after taking a while, when I was driving it as suspended but once I parked up it completed. Have not been out today so will see what has improved tomorrow
So still a pile of dog tat, lost all safety systems and infotainment. AA attended got it reset (battery off/on), contacted the dealer and threw a lot of "not happy" at him so going in next week. Judging by everyone's experience, the more it's updated the more it goes wrong.

Doesn’t sound good pal.

That’s two they’ll have had in for safety system errors.

I'm thinking it might be something else other than just software in these cases.

If it was purely software bugs causing these issues, then we'd all be seeing them. It's the same software being deployed for all of us, yet we don't all have the same issues. I have the "older" hardware version on a Dec 2020 car, had various software upgrades (latest is in progress as of yesterday) yet I've seen none of these catastrophic failures of components (touch wood).

my VZ2 was delivered in January, had a few issues (Gear selector switch, Boot opener and revers camera only working 50% of the time. Went into Cupra 6 weeks ago and still waiting for it back. Boot and gear selector sorted but reverse camera needed full replacment and apparently they need a special tool to calibrate it which no one has.

They've had your car for 6 weeks since it was delivered new in Jan? I'd be rejecting it and asking for a replacement.

yep, getting to that point. but in fairness they have provided a car (even if it is a crap passat) and VWFS have given good compensation. i am expecting it back tomorrow so will see how it goes.

Mine is Dec 20 as well

Had my Reversing Camera not show an image a few times now. If I put the gear back into drive and move forward a foot or so then put it into reverse again, the camera shows an image.

These software updates are causing numerous problems which need to be sorted.

Do you possibly have your mobile connected (wired) when this happens?

Not that it might be related at all, but worth trying to find a pattern (if any). I’m on a Golf R 2017, mine since new, until my Formentor arrives and from time to time the same happens to me while the mobile is wired during startup and I put it in reverse. I’m guessing here but maybe the infotainment system gets ”confused” sometimes. Show the camera or the Carplay on the screen...but 99% of the time it works as intended.
I know it’s a different and older system but it’s easily checked and might be helpful when describing the issue to the dealer since it can be tricky finding out.

I always put my iPhone in the charging slot and it connects wirelessly to apple carplay. Ive done this since I got the car on 01st March but today is the first time the reversing camera image hasn’t shown (I got a black screen as others have reported).

This was also after I’ve driven the car for 30 minutes to get to work.

Wasn’t aware there were different versions of infotainment only had the car a couple of weeks had loads of problems becoming primary user, rear alert and parking sensor errors but 2 updates in quick succession 2 days ago has resulted in everything working well
Primary user problem sorted by seat / cupra back room guys
Sorry to jump on an old thread, but do you know what they did? As after my software update i cannot get to the stage to become primary user, i login with my ID fine, but i just get a spinning arrow when i say yes to becoming primary user, it never gets to the 2 key setup stage. many thanks
