Hi, curious as to what folk think re value for money?
For the extras you get on the slightly more expensive V2 over the V1?

As far as I can see it's mostly 19" wheels, " Coast to Coast" interior and adjustable ambient lighting (Which I have to admit I DO really like...but enough for the extra cost?) Leather interior, reversing camera?

Just not sure they justify the extra cost over the V1, has anyone had a V1 and wished they'd gone the extra for the V2, or maybe vice versa, had a V2 and wished they'd saved a bit getting the V1?

The car looks so much better on the bigger wheels and this is a car that a lot of people buy for it's style.

It's a personal decision tho..what one person likes, another might not.

What do you prefer, that's what's important.

Yes I understand what you're saying about it being personal choice, it's a bit of a "non question" really as it is SO down to personal choice but thought I'd see what other folk thought anyway. ...cheers for the rep!y?

I looked at the v1 and V2, but it was just the overall feeling of the V2 that won me over, such as the one piece seats, rather than normal seat with headrest. The look of the bigger wheels ... It was just. "One of those things"

Neither. Get the VZ2. You only live once, and because delivery times are so long it'll be the last chance to buy a new ICE motor before they get banned.
Totally hear you but, sadly I'm having to work to a budget (even then I'm still trying to convince myself to part with something like 30 grand!?)

I’ve got the V2 and did look at the V1. When you’re spending 30k on a car you may as well go for the one you’re going to enjoy owning the most and the one piece leather seats and 19” wheels fit the cars style so well. Go V2!

You also get the leather on the dash in the V2. I had the VZ Edition and looked at the V1 when it was handed back, the V1 just didn't look as special on the inside plus I would miss the wraparound lighting and the superb nappa leather seats. A DSG V1 is the about the same cost as a manual V2, as others have said its all about personal choice. Go sit in V1 & V2 and see what you think.

Sat in a V1 and not having a V2 to compare to can only go with some of the comments on here regarding cost and if I can stretch to the V2 (There's only like a couple of grand difference once you're up at the 28-30 grand) I should go for it, my only hesitancy is that currently car prices are just ridiculously high, "Second hand" Cupras going for similar, if not MORE, money than brand new....as long as your prepared to wait?

I would order new, don't even entertain used at the moment. The waiting times are starting to improve and another thing to note is the PCP deals came out cheaper on the V2. Go for a new V2 mate, you wont regret it.

Yeah I am looking at that, I retire next year and am thinking of taking up the current PCP offer of Cupra adding £1500 to your initial deposit but then intend to pay off as soon as I can the with part of my lump sum (I don't want the equivalent of another mortgage going out every month from my pension) just plucking up the courage to make the leap and commit myself to a 30 grand order on a new car? most I've EVER paid on a car for myself is 14 grand? but I'm not one for changing my car regularly and as long as they're reliable keep them till they drop, the new car is my gift to myself after 42yrs shift work.
thanks for the reply.

All I can say is you deserve it. I have 7 year left but my plan is the same, buy something to keep until I cant drive anymore. Live life for the now mate.

Hi! Is there any way to find out what car I have? Might sound silly, but apparently in my country there are no naming conventions, I was asking the dealer but all they had was the engine choice and the equipment listed as extras, no versions such as V1 or V2 anywhere or VZ (1,2,3).
My car arrived in January 2022, its a 2.0TSI 4WD 190PS. I have a feeling it might be a V1, since it is on the 18" alloys. But also it has 10" screen (including AA/Carplay), full leather interior with sport seats, beats audio, heated steering wheel, electric tail gate (virtual pedal), rear camera.

I'm Not as ofay with the models as some on here but mine is a V2 (Leather heated seats and steering wheel, Mag Tech Grey, 1.5 TSI DSG Auto)
I think (in the U.K. anyway) yours would be a VZ2... I'm sure someone else will correct me if I'm wrong.?

Model variants / spec can differ from one country / market to another, so in your country, the Formentor may not get the same model designations and equipment levels as, say, the Formentor range built for the UK market.

Looking at the Formentor brochure for your country (you’re in Lithuania, based on your forum signature), the available Formentor models appear to be Cupra, VZ and VZ Cup. You can probably determine which yours is from the brochure as the equipment levels of each model is listed.

Thank for the answer! Becomes confusing when each country/market begins to identify the models differently.

I bought the V2 190 bhp in August I must admit the 310 bhp was my top choice until I found the tax was £520 pa for 5 years and as I also drive a special edition RX8 with £630 pa tax I decided £1,150 pa tax was a bit ridiculous, but I had a plan, so the 190 bhp was purchased and I waited until a few thousand miles was clocked up then the RaceChips RS tuning box at £269 for 46 bhp was installed increasing output to 236 bhp so nearly up to the 245 output but with the benefit of AWD it also boasts 6 tuning maps but I don`t intend to indulge as it is great as it is.
Now flick it into Sport and it flies just about how I wanted the performance in a Formentor, there also was the GTS tuning box which gives another 10 bhp for £399 but I decided £130 for another 10 bhp was not worth it although they have an offer on at the moment its now only £299 - bugger never mind I am more than happy the way it is, just need to source some twin pipes now.
