Hi lads gona get into this eventually tried a search but well its late and anyway was wondering what do I need to be to use it on the ibiza. got a laptop so all a need 2 know is what cable etc.

You need to get the software from http://www.ross-tech.com/ and a cable either form them of off of eBay.

I brought one from eBay and arrived today actually. Works fine on my mk3 Golf but newer cars have alot more functionality. Is pretty cool watching readouts and graphs of rpm, temps etc. in real time..and keeping other eye on the road of course

It's the easiest thing in the world.
You click the search button,
You enter the words "vag-com + cable"
You read through the results...........................

The answer has been posted so many many times.

Yes - I go into these threads to learn and perhaps sometimes see if I can help. I get fed up of seeing people who can't be bothered to help themselves even a little bit. I think there are stacks of members that wish people would use the search buttion more.............

We generally like being helpful and answering questions, but when a question is asked that's been answered so many times before and even has it's own dedicated forum (here: http://www.seatcupra.net/forums/forumdisplay.php?f=104 ), it does get a little tiring.

an area which I have read but cant find a straight answer, look if your going to say search waht was the point in answering. Im sure you have the ability to read that I did and if it was or wasnt with luck then, still you dotn need to tell me to do something I have. Christ not hard to work out u obviously know as u haev been a member for 4 years I have not. Bloody helpfull forum this probably took you longer to say search than actually make some use of your time and help. All I needed to know was what software and what cable where to connect it. There are no posts directly related to ibiza mk4, if you tried a search you might know

If you're still looking for a cable, check out the ones on eBay. I paid just under £16 including delivery from the US..haven't had a chance to test it on a Seat yet but works fine on VW and dont see why it wouldnt work.

Search for 'USB VAG-COM 409 COMPAT KKL AUDI VW SKODA OBD 2 CABLE OU' - thats the one I got.

it depends what laptop you have got as to what cable you need either a serial ports one or usb, for the mk4 ibiza you will need a kk line cable and on ebay try alphabid offer money back if it dosent work. you plug it in to the car behind the little pull out cubby hold under headlight switch~( just pull this out and you will see a blue connector

the serial cables are better i think but ive got two laptops with vag com on one serial and one usb both work fine

dare I ask how much they sting you for the vag-com software ?

it all sounds interesting so maybe I'll have a search later after eating
