vcds connection problem

i have installed vag.com 805 but when i test the connection everything is connected but the can connection.

'can not found' is displayed.

my car is a 2008 ibiza 6l, im sure the can connection should work.

i am running the installation on windows vista

i have tried changing the baud rate at 9600, 4800, 2400 and still the same problem.


i can still read fault codes and some live data, but anything that involves canbus just times out when searching.


can some one shine some light on this, have i missed some setting.

VCDS 805 is out of date. Try downloading 908 and see if it corrects the issue. What type of interface cable are you using?

i am using a pikey cable and would like to get it up and running to try it out before buying.

3rd party interfaces are limited to older versions of VAG-COM (311/409.) You will not have any success getting it to work with 805.

The cable is also canbus.

And when you check in device manager it says can on the cable description under USB

3rd party CANBUS interfaces (HEX+CAN) are pirated copies of our product. Our CanBus interfaces have the activation built in, which was cloned in the cable you have. I will not be able to assist you further.
