My sensible cheap money pinching scottish ******* moths fly out o my wallet side, keeps telling me to get the estate.

The you still have some self respect even though you have the fashion sense of three legged dog with mange side, tells me that the FR or vRS is the correct choice even if it means an outlay of 1.5-2k more.

If people don't like the white/black seats of the fabia, then there is the Special limited edition (vRS SE) that is panted Race Blue, has leather seats which can be heated, cruse control and a few more bits. These came out in 2007 as the last Mk1 vRS.

Just a daft question, Can the FR come with 5 doors not only 3, (sorry I have a vRS and don't quite know Seats). Are the insurance groups the same, I think it's 9 for the Furby.

The Fabia estate will be a PD100 unless someone has done a transplant. There are 1 or 2 on Briskoda who have.

high mileage but hes mint with his cars and it's still mint, building a mk1 polo g40 atm too! Could prob knock him down abit more if you were interested and not sure if its got the coilies on anymore either.

oh mate. thats poor. Buy a nice car. If you bought that thing its just like saying "yep, iv given up on life and dont care"

either way the vrs or the fr is going to be a grand choice.
you'l get no hassle either one u choose. Both good cars!

Build Quality - VRS
Ride Quality - VRS
Handling - VRS
Fun to drive - FR

So thats 4 - 2 to the VRS

Strange result that as I'd chose the FR everytime....

i noticed the build quality is alot better on VRS

little things like the engine bay has got a rubber seal all the way around it, ibiza hasnt

i must say i looked at the VRS when i was looking at getting a new car..great cars, great build quality, nippy and stylish...but for all its positives i still went for the FR. At the end of the day both cars are very similar and have the same potential...whatever descion you make it will be a good one

Im very biased but i think the facelift FR is one of the best looking hot hatches about!

Yes they can, my FR has 5 doors... The dealer said its quite rare though...

I've had a Fabia VRS. It was a better quality car (interior wise) than my cupra. It was also better on fuel 60mpg (90miles a day) compared to 53mpg in the cupra. I got the opertunity to swap the VRS for the cupra with no cash payment (cupra was year older with 8k less miles) so I went for it due to the intercooler, breaks, looks and better handling.

I'd go for the VRS its a cool comfortable car. If you vent the tank and drive at 60mph on the motorway you'll get 600miles to a tank which will be good for you due to the milage.

I have a 56 plate VRS and have also just bought an 08 FR Tdi, both me and the wife do a lot of commuting but I am looking forward to seeing the difference once living with them both.

I would say the vRS. I have the pre facelift Ibiza Sport and i do the the vRS looks abit more aggressive due to the front bumper and exhaust. Plus it would be built better and its a slightly softer ride than the FR's. But i dont think i would buy one as its a Skoda and i am vain!.

Had my reservations about a skoda for a while but one test drive and I was sold, love it, looking forward to the FR as well though, been 3 years since owning a SEAT, last one was a 54 plate leon cupra.

I was set on the VRS until I realised that the Sport/FR was effectively the same car.

They were coming in about £1k cheaper than the VRS for similar age/mileage.
Also figured that the white inserts in the seats weren't gonna stay white for long with all the mountain biking I do - so went for the Ibiza.

Still look at VRS' when I see them about and wonder if I made the right choice - but only sometimes. And then I look at the state of my interior & think that I probably did!

For reference, the earlier PD130 sports, like above, are actually group 7 too, so 2 groups less than the vRS!

thats my point... to say pre-facelift sport, would mean there was a facelift version surely? as there wasnt... you dont.

anyway. how can the ibiza have more cred when its UPTO 2 groups LESS?

vRS has the badge, hense the insurance group increase.
