W8 Light

Have been thinking about this recently.

Does anyone know if the light from the Passat W8 will fit in the mk5 Ibiza.

It doesn't look too far off size wise, the only thing that concerns me is that the W8 light has a plastic border around the edge of the translucent part of the light, where as in the Ibiza the translucent plastic goes right to the edge.

It would be a pretty cool mod for the backlit buttons and ambient LED's, I know a few of the mk4 Ibiza and Leon guys have done it.

They've got the same on the mkv golf gt sports used to have one, good idea not sure if they fit tho. Just an alternative source

Cheers - I think it would really make the interior feel a bit more classy. Gonna read up on which cars this has been done on in the past and see if the standard lights where anything like the ones in the Ibiza.

Will also ring a few local VW dealers to see what price it is.

I bought one of these two weeks ago for my mk1 leon.
The part number is: 3B7 947 105 F2 EN non sunroof grey W8 light = £34.45 + V.A.T

I'd be interested in this, but I have a sunroof on my Beeza, reckon there's any difference?
Plus us Boc/Cup owners have black roof linings, different colours?

The light is available in two colours IIRC, grey and an orangy/cream colour.

The sunroof one for VW's cost around £20 more and has a circular hole for a sunroof control dial. Will see if I can find a pic.

Just found it mate, I don't know how easy it would be to wire up, plus it wouldn't fit. Just seen a picture on ebay, although IIRC the Ibizas sunroof control isn't part of the main light control, maybe wrong? Can't be bothered to go out to my car and look

Dont forget that this part will be available for order from any VW, SKODA, AUDI OR SEAT dealership.

I see they said you can get them in black but off the german flea bay.......................... will have a nose around. I really really like that. Would need to do some measurements too. Can any one get a pic from their cupra or boc one? I may just nip down later and take a pic myself actaully. Sorry, just saw there is a pic at the top hehehehhee So ours are actually a little different tbh, the plastic is also tinted, may just leave mine as is.

Pretty sure it will fit perfectly, mk1 Leons have exactly the same light without the border round the edge and so do some Golfs it seems.

So for non cupra owners it should be a perfect fit and colour match, just a case of the additional wiring to make it light up.
