Is there no warning for this in the new Ibiza ???
As I understand it, on the current SEAT range you get a washer fluid warning only when you have xenon headlights fitted -

1. It drains faster because your headlights have washers as well
2. It can be more of a safety concern if you run out and get crap on your headlights

Thanks for the info :)

Sounds about right! Only available if you have extra options! TBH, whats more of a safety concern than having an obscured windscreen! If thats there logic, it doesn't really stack up.

I would agree with you on that one mate. I personally feel mainting a clear windscreen is far safer than ensuring your headlights are clear hehehehe. Unless the car is actually a 4x4 and you are going to get serious mud on them. I can't see the logic with not having a warning light on standard models. Thank goodness I have ordered bi-xenons, wouldn't want to have a problem with my headlights getting dirty.......................

I have a 1.2 TSI on order with Winter Pack which includes headlight wash.

Will be interesting to see if it includes washer fluid warning.

Probably not - it's not listed as part of Winter Pack. It is listed for VW Polo whose winter packs costs £340 as against £260 and is otherwise the same!!!

Well I now have the car with winter pack and the handbook does not even show a warning light in the pictures of the instruments so I guess such a warning is unlikely. Mind you under the heading "Examples of priority 2 warning messages (yellow)" it says a symbol and the text "REFILL WINDSCREEN WASHER FLUID" will be shown (depending on model version). All very unclear. I suppose I can only wait until most of the 4.5 litres of fluid have been used.

Anyone with Xenons ever seen a warning?

I don't have Xenons but do have headlamp washers.

I have never had a warning and ran out plenty of times when the weather was cold.

With the headlamp washers, I seemed to be going through loads of washer fluid when it was cold and the roads were salty. The head lamp washers don't half use a lot.

Oh well. It certainly looks as if none of the recent Ibizas have the warning, with the possible exception of the Xenon light cars.

I have xenons and have never had the warning light either and have run out before. Maybe I will double check again just to make sure.

The trouble as I see it is because you can't see the level in the reservoir there's no way of knowing if it's almost full or almost empty except by trying to fill it up. You can see the fluid in the filler neck when it's almost full but that's all.

My old Honda Civic also has a hidden reservoir but has a transparent plastic tube attached to the filler cap with a small hole in the cap. You put your finger over the hole and remove the cap and tube. The liquid is trapped in the tube and you can see the level.

On the Ibiza there is a filter in the neck of the bottle and I don't yet know how easy it is to lift out. If it does come out then I might try a length of plastic tube if I can lay my hands on one.
