During all this crappy weather the spray pattern on the screen is getting on my tits, it doesn't fan? well but is almost just two jets and low down on the screen,can I adjust these to spray higher up and is there a cure for the poor water spread? Ta guys.
 
Tried adjusting mine recently and they didnt want to budge, figured if I tried harder they would break so I left it.
 
I didn't think the fan spray jets were adjustable.

What make/type of screenwash have you used? I read that using of some types of screenwash can be problematic because with some of them the additive can crystalise at certain temperatures and cause the jets to block up. Maybe this is what has happened with yours.
 
Thats what I started to think... :) cheers. I even read the manual!
Mine just seem a bit lower than I would like, maybe a blockage in the system somewhere reducing power.
 
When my low washer fluid indicator came on at the tail end of last year I was looking around for what fluid to use and people were saying that to be on the safe side and to avoid any issues with the fan jets to just use the SEAT supplied stuff. Obviously though it's not cheap compared to stuff you can get at the the local motor factors or online.

My car then needed to go in to VAG dealer for some work and they kindly topped up my fluid at no extra charge so I didn't end up needing to worry about.

At some point however I am going to need to shell out any buy my own. If anyone knows of any tried and tested make/type screen wash other than the VAG supplied stuff that isn't troublesome with the fan jets then I would be interested to know what those are.

Just a thought but I wonder of the pressure / non-return valve is faulty on yours...


Thats a good thought, although there is no real delay in getting flow, maybe I just expect too much from them, but I can assure you in the weak jets investigation vs never removing my flaming plastic panel again stakes, the panel wins every time!!

It will have to get to the no water stage for me to get under there again!

Did not know that about the screenwash - im using one of those 100gallon nondescript filling station jobbies at the moment.

Nearly always used the Halfords pre mixed stuff in the R and work Passat. Usually the lower freezing point premium stuff, never had a problem. Using same in current Cupra, (fan jet mod fitted) and no problems there either.
 
Think ill grab some of that next time i do a 'frauds run.

Sit there for 30 mins squirting out the old stuff... oo-eerr!
