Help,

my washer pump leaks on my leon cupra x reg where it fits into the reservoir- I've tried fixing it with blue instant gasket but it doesn't work - does any body know the parts numbers (my nearest dealers -are lazy sods and never ring back /claim no knowledge of my calls) I think the part is only 90p - not sure if there should be two parts to the seal , mine only has one seal, shaped like a top hat with the lid cut off.

more generically is there anywhere I can find these parts numbers for my self?

I have exactly the same problem - and the constant 'low screenwash' warning light does my head in!

part numbers really appreciated by me too

(also... how did you get to the pump? - I can just about reach to get a couple of fingers on it - I wasn't sure what bits I could take off to improve access - didn't want to just start removing random engine parts..!)

I managed to pull the pump straight up - you can do it without disconnecting anything as long as you dont pull the pump too far and strain connectors etc. The pump has a single spigot pointing vertically down which fits into a rubber seal.

Mine has leaked for a long time - I've tried a diy fix twice now but obvioulsy failed. Be careful when re-inserting the pump because you can push the seal right into the washer resevoir so rather than leaking it gushes out! When i did this i had to remove the plastic nuts holding the reservoir in, wriggle it out of the engine bay and turn it upsid down to get the "better than no seal" seal back. I'm trying to get the part but my dealer is a bit slow to respond - presumably cos the bits cost buttons.

sadly answering my own post - part number443955465 has been supplied at a cost of 29p ....and it looks very similar to the old one ... and it leaks just the same. Does anyone know if there is more to this than just one seal, the pump spigot and the hole in the reservoir? a spacer or clip missing perhaps?

aha -3L bottle

I think 'cos of the aircon the bottle is 3 litres instead of 5.5. I think the seal is perhaps the one for the bigger tank...... p.s. anyone else struggling for parts numbers should try vagcat.com ..not perfect but better than nowt.

Sorted - used the old seal but with a strip of PVC insulation tape wrapped round it - holding fluid fine... I must have an oversize hole (if you''l pardon the expression)
