Hey guys.. long story short i've awoken this morning to my interior covered in snow thanks to a few little sh*ts that live in my estate.

Im afraid some snow has melted on the dash and the water is gone down the back of the vents.
I know i shouldnt start it.. but will the water that got down there cause any damage?

Police were involved but could do nothing. it seems its legal to open someones car door and chunk snow in there.:censored::censored:

The Central locking isnt currently working, so the car was unlocked. So Please no questions about why it was unlocked.

Some of you may remember my other topics of damage to my car by neighbourhood kids.
-Smashed Window
-Rock Damage to Car
-Eggs in the Glovebox.

Sorry to go off topic.. im really pissed off.
So back to Topic.
Is there anything (wiring, plugs) behind the dash that water can damage.. and when should i tempt to start it.

Thank you..

It should be ok,when i bought my Altea it had a wet floor, and i mean soaking wet,it turned out to be a windscreen leak,so all of that had to pass behind the dash! if your really worried, get a small heater in there for an hour!
And sod legal advice, get a group of mates and a van, grab the kids bundle into the van and drop them off at the nearest mountain ;)

F**K the car drying out grab em after dark, couple of swift blows in the stomach and take em on a ride far out of town and leave em. Don't care that their kids they should know right and wrong.

When we were being pricks as kids getting a kicking always made us move on to a new thing.

i used a heater in my clio Rsi mate. the sunroof seal was broken (common problem apparently). i left a leccy heater in there until the windows were propper steamed up. and then opened the windows to let all the air and water out(left it for about 2 hours) did this a few times and jobs a goodun.

Hey guys, yeah have it cleaned up the most i can, the snow has got into awkward spots :(

but the car isnt starting and it wont go into gear as its really stiff.
could this be from the snow.. or just the weather in general.

mate that water would have got into all the nooks and crannys, and the weather has frozen it solid(my clio handbrake didnt work lol) u need to get it started by bumnp starting it and then take it for a good ragging. get the engine nice and hot and all the heaters on and get all the water to evaporate. you got a plug socket outside? get the hair dryer out and get it under the gearstick gaiter. loosen it all up.

Could be just the gearbox oil that's more stiff when cold than when warm... Seemed like mine was a bit stiff a few days ago too, that was at -2... Then again, it wasn't THAT stiff,

Maybe stupid question but did you check the battery already?... Maybe it's just gone flat because of the cold...

btw: I'd get a golfclub or baseball batt when it's been snowing again at a day those kids usually show up, and wait inside with a good view at the car and scare them sh*tless... Then again, I've never been good with kids...
