Water Pump Replacement

After months of procrastination to find my coolant leak, it's reared its ugly head itself.

My water pump and thermostat housing needs replacing.

I'm fairly confident in taking things apart and putting them back together, so I'm going to do it myself. I've bought G12evo to go back in after everything's done and flushed.

My question is, what else do I need? If the pump housing is a known problem, is there an aftermarket version available that has fixed this problem, or should I just buy the VW VAG part again?

I see a lot of the same parts, worlds apart in price.

All I need as far as I know:

- Coolant
- Water Pump belt
- Water Pump Thermostat Housing

My bad Brian, it's a 2018 Leon Mk3 FR 1.4TSI SC Technology. I believe it's the 125BHP CZEA engine?

Thanks for the info. I can't help with much info for the engine as mine is a TDi and I don't know if they are similar.

My water pump had the electronic widget on it and that kept sticking, so I changed it for an OEM non-widget one from Gates.

My thermostat housing was an @rse to get at, but yours might be easier. My mechanic said he'd never do another!
