Hi all,

I've been lurking on here for a while and read loads of good info  - thanks guys, so I decided to join :)

I'm changing the cambelt on my Leon 110 TDi (2004-reg), as I've just got it and it's done 75k, with the cambelt never been done.

At the same time, I'd like to change the water pump to one with metal impellers, but am struggling to find the KWP version for my model:

Euro Car Parts are showing Out of Stock of the metal impeller pump with the black impellers, price £40.74 + delivery),

which I have read is better than the Circoli (cheaper made, which is £25.80 plus delivery )

and when I check the KWP website for my model of Leon, it shows a pic with plastic impellers?!!

I need to order this on a Next Day delivery, and only Euro Car Parts seem to offer this, as other suppliers seem to take upto 3-5 days to deliver.

Two othere alternative metal impeller water pumps I've found are:

COMLINE EWP030 water pump

Found on eBAY UK, price: £20 + delivery

and

Kolbenschmidt 50005132-1 water pump

(1.9 TDi 110Hp AHF,ASV (metal impeller) Manufacturer: KS
(Part No: 50005132)

(From vwspares.co.uk)

Price £21.66 + delivery

-->> Can anyone please tell me where I could get a metal impeller pump by KWP at short notice and at a reasonable cost?

--> Or alternatively, please advise me whether the Circoli (or other 2 pumps) would be okay for radical modding later, as I'm thinking of Stage 3/4 conversion, and don't want the water pump to fail (which I don't think would happen with the KWP as it looks much better built).

Thanks a lot for any help anyone can offer,

All the best

Hi and thanks for the reply elviscat,

That's the pump I would ideally like to get, the KWP like you have, but as I say, Euro Car Parts are out of stock at the moment.

In the first instance, the garage who are doing the cambelt and water pump change will be looking to ring their local motor factors in the morning to find a pump, so it would be awesome if someone could please give me the correct KWP part number, as on the Euro Car Parts website it's their own part number, and on the KWP website it shows a plastic-impeller pump for the Leon 110 TDi!!

If I could get the KWP part number, and it turns out the garage can't get it from their regular parts supplier, then the Circoli could well be a back-up option, as well as the other two pumps from Comline and KS.

However, the KWP looks and sounds the best, and is double the price, or nearly double, that of the others! So that must mean a fair bit more work has gone into it (design, build, quality).

If I end up with 300BHP, will the Circoli (or Comline / KS) be able to cope, or would the KWP be my only option when modded to that extent?
(I don't want to get a job done now, only to find it needs re-doing when upgrading to much higher BHP, so would rather sort it out now!)

Many thanks and all the best

We've fitted 100's of circolli pumps without any issues - all supplied by ECP.

Hi and thanks for the reassurance on the Circoli pump MJ,

It's probably the most likely pump that the garage will be able to get hold of at short notice.

Cheers mate

Eating my own words after one came back today though!!!

3 months old - the impellar moved on the shaft and ground itself to dust on the block!

Hi MJ,

Oh well, what's done is done - I've ordered the Circoli via the garage, mainly because ECP were out of the KWP.

Let's hope mine lasts a bit longer than 3 months!

Thanks for letting me know all the same
