Ive had my mk1 lcr (pic below) for about 3 months now. Try and wash it every weekend using:

Turtle washer foam thing (white bottle)
Window shine thing (cant remember bloody names!)
Autoglyn tar remover

Now the question is what wax do i use, as ive never really been a waxer, didnt really use on previous motor and havnt got a clue what to use!

Tips would be cool!

hello mate, suprised nobodys got back to you by now. I use autoglym super resin polish once every 2 months and in between turtlewax 'something that comes in a red bottle from halfords' every two weeks. click my signature for some pics of the done jobs. I recon thats a reasonable amount if your fussed but not too fussed.

I've got a red Leon too and I've always used Dodo Juice Orange Crush for waxing. A lot cheaper then the Dodo SN but the Orange Crush still comes out really nicely

I buy my Dodo Juice stuff from Rubbish Boy's. Look on this site for the website, I've not got enough posts yet to give you the link

It's about £32. I've waxed my car quite a few times and I've hardly used anything so it will last you a long time!

Quick delivery times form there too!

cleanyourcar.co.uk sell it i think. I think its priced a bit over the odds and you can do just aswell with autoglym from halfords in my opinion. . be careful with your paint tho mate. the vag red is notoriously bad quality on the leon. if you dont take extra care when cleaning and waxing you'll ruin it (like i did)

waxing red Cupra

Hi Mate,
Have you tried turtle wax colour magic? Its red polish creates a shine like new, is easy to apply and remove and because its red it fill in and covers most of the swirl and hairline scratches, give it a go. :p

for light/med swirls you just cannot beat autoglym SRP by hand.

now i know what your thinking bah autoglym lol Davekg did a hand polish test overr on detailing world and it killed everything hands down.

also Bilt hamber autobalm is also extremely awesome

;)

since all the above i used turtlewax hard shell shine wax. Its about £6 from halfrogs. Bleeding hell its awesome! just... awesome... (see sig pic)

as im not a regular waxer and not a hard core cleaner, i was thinking of something a lil standard, the autoglym or turtlewax stuff seems in my price range.

what do i need to apply the wax and how do you do it?
