Hey guys yet another little problem,

When driving on a main road in fact any road it drives a dream, however on idle and slowing for a junction/traffic etc my car cuts out, rev's drop bellow 500rpm car struggles then cuts out, its a 1.8 Gti 16v, just threw an MOT with no advisories, i am totally puzzled at to what it could be, however i noticed this morning there is a weird buzzing coming just from under the cover that the ignition leads run along(pop into to keep them neat)
Now i have no idea where to start, an no idea what the cylinder object that the buzzing is coming from. Is there any wa to turn the idle up??etc

Please help guys!!

do these cars have an idle stabilisation valve? COuld it be that working overtime to keep the car running?

I thought there was an adjuster screw on the throttle bodies of 16v's to adjust the idle. Try giving the throttle body a clean up.

Not sure if this is exactly your throttle body, but I'm sure there was a hole in the top of the throttle body (as it's fitted to the car) that you can stick a flat blade (long and pretty thin) screwdriver into and make adjustment.

Forum sponsor Badger5 (Bill Brockbank) will probably be your man on throttle bodies.

i usually look em up on etka here on my pc as it's easier to use then find the equivalent on vagcat as it's easier than uploading a screenshot

http://www.vagcat.com/epc/

free to register and use but be warned it's not quite as accurate and as up to date as the dealers info at at times but still useful none the less

as for the Valve i've not hear one buzz :) but give it a good clean out (brake cleaner) will delay the inevitable for a while
