Charvel,

I've just got back from Jabba sport, they did logged etc while re-mapping and everything is fine.

I think it's safe to consider this normal.

Cheers, Will

mine does this, i always notice when i drive off to work in the morning so it must be a cold engine thing

i've got an untouched 210 LCR with no vag com faults

I'm suprised more people havent noticed this though
Maybe its because it only happens when you accerlerate gently ;o)

I would like to hear other peoples views on this,
its when you are on a slow steady acceleration in 2nd, when you get to 2k revs it should loose a bit of power (try when engine is cold)

cool thanks for the heads up will!

Yep, exactly the same on mine. 2003 untouched Cupra 210. Pulling out onto the road from my house from a cold start in a morning. Taking it easy whilst the engine warms up - when accelerating from 1500k revs past 2000 i get a sudden loss of power then loads of power which causes a small kangaroo effect.

I must add i havent noticed this when warm though....

I'll have a look at VAG tonight to see if it throws up any errors.

Its due in at Seat to have the temperature sensor replaced as on some cold mornings the engine warning light and audible beep comes on about 20 secs after starting it up. I originally put it down to that and thought once its replaced it would be fine.

Maybe not.....

thats intresting coz mine does that too,

how much are they charging to change the sensor, mine only does it when its really cold, apparently its a common problem that

had another issue this morning. Started her up and the revs were really really low at tickover, and I could hear a knocking sound from the engine :( Reved it and let off, and tick over reverted to its normal position. anyone had this before?

Im on 28000 and my warranty expires at 30k, so I may get it into dealers to check out.

I was not sure if I should start a new thread or not so apologies if I have gone at this wrong;

I have a 02 LCR. Standard everything relating to the engine.

I get the same power loss when in 1st and accelerating slowly. On mine it does not pass this stage just sits there an splutters. If I give it more right foot then it leaps into action. I have done 60 odd K in it and have only noticed it in the last few months so not sure if it has always been there or if the turbo is knackered.

When in 2nd and accelerating all the way up to 6th in a quick as possible manner (on a track obviously) the turbo wines like a SOB! The best way to describe it is a grinding sucking noise different from the normal turbo sound. So I am assuming that it is knackered and needs replacing or re-conditioning. I aim to sell this in the next few months and don’t want to spend money on it if it’s not absolutely necessary as I won’t get the rewards (I don’t want to sell a crapped out motor but in the same respect don’t want to over spend). Will the diagnostics software provide any useful information regarding the turbo and if it does need to be replaced how big is the job? Does the engine need to be dropped to get access to it? I am savvy with motors but not to the extent that I want to drop the engine.

Cheers
Olly
