weired clunk when reversing.......

Im revsering and it makes one massssssiive clunk! And i lose drive in reverse till i dip clutch and bring it back up, also has a strange nois after going back, i dip the clutch and it makes a strange noise :/, anyone tell me what it is please, need to get sorted asap! cheers

judging by your other posts i'd be tempted to say they're all related to one fault, maybe you haven't got a new clutch in or they skimped & didn't replace all that needed doing?
release bearing?
or maybe the 'box is goosed?

sounds like another candidate for the box of matches trick

What!? The box is fooked if its none of them -.- i cant affored a new box, and the chances of finding one in a scrappy is slim! Ffs!, looks like another gti in going in the scrapper!

Is yours an 8 or 16v?
If its a 16v I have a spare gearbox available for only £20 in good working order.

No its an 8v mate , and ive swaped with my friends car now, so i got another cupra gti 8v thanks for your help shall let hime know
