I had my LCR serviced there a few weeks ago and a couple of weeks later noticed that the paint or laquer on the O/S brembo caliper had started to flake. Phoned them up as I suspected that they had spilt brake fluid down it while they did the fluid change. They said to bring it in and they would have a look.
Now it's 20 miles there and back, so wasn't keen on taking it there just to have them say we'll book it in to do the work and told them so. So anyway I took it in today hoping that they would do the work plus a couple of other minor warranty issues.

Chap phones me at work about 3 o'clock to tell me that my car is ready and guess what: they need to order in a new caliper.
Why they couldn't have ordered one in in anticipation is beyond me. Despite wasting my time and fuel, surely it is waste of theirs too.

Still on a positive side I am getting a new caliper out of them and they washed the car, but I have got enough on at the moment without driving too and from Westerham.

Think once all the warranty work is out of the way I will use Hidsons in Maidstone as they are much nearer.

Got my first service F.O.C from Westerham when I bought the car and had a couple of small warranty jobs that they said they'd do that I never got round to taking it in for.

Probably will use Hidsons in the future - don't know what they're like.

Hidsons :thumbd: - I wouldn't go there if I were you!!!!!!!!!!!!!! :censored:

If you do, don't act at all upset or complain to Seat customer services about them or you will be accused of being abusive and told you are no longer welcome back at the dealership.

Hot-Rod !
Hidsons :(

just couldnt help myself, Hidsons could not even diagnose a faulty thermostat and told me several times that it is normal for my leon tdi never to reach the 90degreese c.......... seat uk didnt seem interested in my complaint either..... fixed it myself with an allen key....took the part down and got a refund !

Also the KIA part is usless as well !

Would reccomend The Motorist Centre, small but friendly and you also get a day out in canterbury !

sorry which Hidsons you talking about, Maidstone or Rainham.

The maidstone one is the better of the 2, they seem to be ok, i don't like the thing of paying to have a courtesy car, think thats a bit rich,

A mate ofmine works there in sales and the head sales guy is also very helpful,

As with any garage i do feel they have to pointed in the right direction, iE can you please change th ecoil packs as thye are playing up, can you please tighten this up etc.

They don't give you the sam esort of service you would get froma tuner, ie JBS or dare i say it in the old days what AMD used to be like ( ie not how they ar enow)

Dealers should be more pro active in sorting problems, instead they tell you thye have looked at something and then hope you don't suus that they have'nt.

Trouble is we all know too much about our cars and expect the garages to have the same enthusiasm,

I have to say though, i myself am shocked that more mechanics are not more enthused by cars, it seems most are not. Usually the only ones who are interested are the young lads, i found this at spur garage.

Maybe we should think about setting up an SCN dealership, i begsy test driver position!
