• Hey Guest💡👉 We have just launched our new Dealer Directory and review service Find out more now
all depends what type of person you are my friend

Type 1.

a) you have more money than sense
b) you like brand names :gay:
c) you have a 500+Bhp LC/LCR :drive1:

then pay £500-600 for a forge one

Type 2.

a) you realise that your LC/LCR will not exceed 400bhp while in your possession (if ever)
b) the same cooling results can be achieved with a £250-300 universal / inter-cooler kit :D

However, it may require you to use some of those brain cells to fit it. :help:

Decisions, decisions

Jokes aside mate, the Toyosports one has had positive results, excellent value for money (if that's possible in the UK), tried and tested, just got mines yesterday, seems to be very well put together. [B)]

Or:

Type 1.

a) you don't want to comprimise quality on your pride and joy and work hard for your money
b) you like customer service should anything go wrong with what you've bought
c) you want some futureproofing of further mods you will do when the time comes
d) you speak to Forge at a show and get a bloody good deal.
e) it comes complete as a kit so you don't need to butcher your LC/LCR

Type 2.

a) you don't really care about the powerplant in your LC/LCR so any old eBay job will do
b) the same cooling results can be achieved if you don't want to go any further with the car

However, it may require you to use some of those brain cells to fit it. :help:
or... you don't want to butcher your LCR as mentioned

But... Joking aside, I'd rather use a tried and tested company and buy a kit that I can DIY without taking a hacksaw to parts of the car to get it to fit. Yes you pay more but I daresay there's more development gone into a kit such as one from Forge over a universal setup. There's the back up also that should anything go wrong (weld split or hose split / whatever) then a call to Forge is all that's needed to rectify the problem rather than hunting round for a welder etc.

Depends how much pride you take in your motor.

Buying an eBay kit does not mean someone doesn't care about their car...

I bought mine to be different, also on Sam's review of his, and the fact I'm spending alot currently all over the car.
The kit is great. TX Autosports do many applications of intercoolers etc. They know their stuff and communication between me and them was spot on when I wanted the tracking number and the like.

Just to add the tx autosport kit isn't a universal kit, they are made to fit the car perfectly. Most of there kits are made specially for the required car, they do a universal cooler but that's up to the buyer if they want to go down that road. As I said in the previous post, there quailty is second to none, clamps, alloy pipes and silicone is probably the best iv seen. I highly recommend this kit, you won't find better value for money IMHO.

for the price of the forge kit to the others you could buy a remap with the rest of the money.dont get me wrong ive got alot of forge stuff and i carnt fault it but if you got a budget then stick to it .

Thanks for all the feedback guys, I'll have to take a look into the TX autosports one and the toyosports kit.

I would get the forge but the price is just too much. I'm also wanting to try and get the 3rd gear whine sorted so will be spending cash in that and while the gearbox is out would really like to fit a LSD of some sort. Hence looking for a slightly cheaper cooler than the forge.

any body got a second hand forge/txautosport intercooler for sale

Forge one just because it's expensive doesn't mean its good I don't think it'll even flow 500bhp.

If it was me I'd search eBay 300x600 intercooler. That's the one most use it'll flow loads won't cause lag just make sure you fit it properly no boost leaks and use good pipe work.

ive had a few bits of Andrew (yellonvi-R) now, top service

on to the cooler, im running a toyosport/welly cooler, cost me 79 for the core delivered and 70 for all the pipe work and clips.

yeah great, goes well and holds power. wasnt hard to fit, feels stronger than the twin intercoolers. since had a base map put on though. i got that setup on the advice of a fair few including specialists. I was going to get the forge setup but ended up with this due to it being about £550 cheaper

i had to cut the bumper where the grills are, you cant see where its cut though. took about 5 min to cut the bumper to fit, mainly the scoop area that hold the fog lights. the crash bar needs cutting too.
