Had a dry run taking the air filter box off ready for a new one. 2 pipe clips, a breather hose, 2 screws and 4 clips later.
WHY?
My old Civic was 4 easy clips

So it seems. Looks like it's never been changed.
A little bit scummy of the Stealers but my induction kit will be on soon so not all bad.
The service interval is 60,000 miles/5 years for the air filter on MQB platforms. For the sake of c£10-15 I change mine every year, especially after finding a rodent had set up home in a Mk5 Golf air box once upon a time when based in Germany.

Back on topic... Haldex 5 oil change at 17.5k miles, brake fluid change and Carbon Collective Platinum Wheels ceramic protection on the alloys - hopefully performs better than the C5 applied previously, that I wasn’t overly impressed with.

Car was 5 years old when I got it.
I reiterate, stealers.

Watched the wife drive it off to the shops. I pray she parks away from everyone so it doesn't end up dinged like her car

im sure ive missed it somewhere but hope you don't mind me asking where you got your spoiler from? Been looking to source a proper one like yours rather than just the little clip on ones!

I got really lucky as somebody was auctioning it on Ebay. Do you need the part number?

Testfitting spacers, 8mm on the rears now

Bought an unused 18" space saver on eBay for £35 to replace my 16" one, apart from being a similar diameter to my 17" wheels, I'm thinking of fitting Seat Sound sub in it, can't decide whether to make something to fit in the L/H wheel arch boot space instead.

First wash since I got it 10 days ago.

Decontaminated and sealed wheels. Usual snow foam, wash and then went around the car getting plenty of tar off (red car, almost four years old), before washing again and using aquacoat. Might do the same again and wax it next week.

Wasn't sure what I was going to find paint wise given it was the first wash and no doubt it's been polished up and filled to the eyeballs by the dealer, but wasn't anything too bad.

Followed on from yesterday and polished out a light scratch on the front near side bumper, almost got rid of one on the rear offside bumper (barely noticeable now but I didn't want to go too far), then pressure washed off, quick shampoo and dried off. Then I waxed it with some Poorboys red Natty's paste that I got a few years ago when I got my FR.
