Bought my FR 1.4 about 4 months ago. Just added 10k miles to her. Work in TV and Film so I've been commuting to a studio that's 120 miles round trip. For such a small engine, she's actually a dream to commute in.

I am however having a few problems. A few that have been there since I bought it from the garage 👀 looking for some help.

1 - My front left daytime has yellowed. Before the garage gave it to me, it had the front right replaced. Is there a way I can fix it as he told me the headlight was very expensive to replace. This light is also loose which I'll add to below with another problem.

2 - My interior ambient lights are dim to the point they can't been seen at all during the day and only very slightly at night. They're on full brightness, I've already had a look. Are the LEDs dead. Are they replaceable?

3 - Do the 3dr and 5dr have the same engine bonnet? I ask because mine seems to be to small or out of shape. I THINK it might be something to do with when the garage was doing the headlight, they surely would have had bumpers and bonnets off and now something is out. It's been like this since I got it and I've checked multiple times before buying, it's never been crashed.

4 - Because the front bumper is off, I think it's caused damage to my headlights mount. It's snapped in half.

Any help would be appreciated. I end this current job in a few weeks and she's going in straight in for a full service. I don't mind getting dirty and want to learn about my car and how to fix/modify it, so if I can fix any of theses problems (and save some money at the same time) I would like to 😊

A two day adventure through the Glens of Antrim and the Causeway Coast, with the highlight being Torr Head (for reference, see video onboard below from Craig Breen and reactions of drivers after the stage)

Picked my car up and pleased to say they did a good job on the bumper. I can see a slight mark, but that's because I know where to look. They even sorted out a previous mark so I'm happy
Was lovely driving it after the last few days in the pov spec Passat

I would post this as a new post in the forum so responses don’t get lost:

1. Although the car came with 3 year UK warranty, the LED DRL should not have failed after 4 years. Consumer rights act is up to 6 years in UK; however, if this is the headlight unit with broken bracket, SEAT will claim this damage has caused the unit to fail. Also, if the DRL has failed after the dealer sold it to you, the consumer rights act applies to them.

2. The interior ambient lights are an LED at each end of a tube. Is it all lights or just one door? If just one door, then there is a chance that the LEDs have been detached from the tube. Door cover off is relatively straight forward, but there are some clips that are single use and will need to be replaced.

3. Bonnets are the same for 3Dr and 5Dr. The issue is that the dealer has not attached the front bumper correctly or the car has suffered a minor bump - this has probably damaged the tabs on the bumper or where it attaches to the car, and is probably how the headlight unit has been damaged. The front bumper is a PITA to get back on and needs quite a bit of force/manipulation (almost to the point that you think you’ll damage it).

4. You can buy repair kits for damaged headlight units to repair the mounting points. Part #24 in the link below (note, this is for a pre-Face Lift model, but if you go to the dealer, they should be able to order the correct one).

Dropped the Blue one off to have the scratches repaired. The guy has a good reputation and has done repair work for me before. Pretty confident it's gonna come back perfect.

Top tip; don't reverse up narrow lanes with small walls

Do you know what ceramic was applied? Just paint or wheels, glass and trim?
Hi , it had all the swirl marks and webbing removed first and then it had Getchniq Crystal Serum light along with Exo 4 plus wheels done and coated ,I had it booked but in the mean time my missis really would like something higher so 8 decided to get it done anyway as its not going to hurt for selling purposes although after seen it I'm thinking of talking her out of it lol.

Ah nice, Exo and CSL are pretty solid when combined. If it wasn't multi layer application I would've used it on mine
Gtechniq products are pretty nice, got some C5 and G1 for mine.

C5 will fade pretty fast with the wrong cleaning product. A nice pH neutral shampoo with a wheel woolly brush works wonders, avoid Surfex like the plague, it's too strong for coated wheels.

Gyeon Wet Coat is nice, but isn't very cost effective. If the price was better it'd be my go to.

I use Bilt Hamber Touch On, it's not really a gloss enhancer but you don't really need one once a car is coated. Apply it via a snowfoam lance to reduce the risk of swirls

Put 2 new Michelin pilot sport 4 s on the front of the car. The dealer stealer was looking £290 for 2 x falkens. I got 2 x Michelin fitted with alignment checked etc for less than that.

That's a real slippery slope, thousands of pounds will be spent .

Get one of these, you can make nice lines in your carpet and seats
