What did I and my mk3 Leon do today ?

Got home. Reversed the FR up the drive. Opened the door a touch and reached for my keys, work id pass etc. Delighted to see the wind catch the door and smash it into the Cupra and dent the door. *ucking great.

Ordered the upgraded rear anti roll bar to go with my suspension refresh!

Massive shoutout to @Mark@Progressive for checking directly with SuperPro’s owners if it would actually fit, as the Leon seems to be in a bit of a black hole for not being included in MQB platform compatibility lists! Hopefully be with me sometime next week šŸ¤ž

@TripleBob Tell me about it, I bought a H&R 25mm but it didnt fit my ST. It needs to have the same shape or it does not clear the exhaust. Fitting it was not a fun job I can tell you. Hopefully you have a better experience hahaha

If that one fits, then I know what to order next time :)

Ergh yeah it’s so irritating. The estate seems to be excluded from everything, especially if it isn’t a Cupra. The 184 tdi shows as incompatible with pretty much everything. Even my front tower strut brace (a hardrace bar) says it’s not compatible, but it definitely fits! So parts are a bit of a crapshoot 🤣

Luckily ProgressiveParts (and SuperPro) have agreed to take it back if it doesn’t fit!

Even the Cupra gets excluded from a lot of things, When I was looking for seat carriers for my bucket seats there was nothing, for the Mk 7 golf there were lots of options. Thanks to people on this forum I was able to be confident that the Golf ones would fit (and they did) but non of the people I was getting kit from knew the answer.

Thats the general idea, with the 6 point harness will then enable me to go round corders without having to prop myself up against the transmission tunnel.

Wait till you get sciatica those roundabouts can be painful. That seat would keep you rigid. Well magic pain killers did the trick although you did wonder whether you really wanted to take the 3rd exit . Good bucket seats is what I look for in a car to give good back support.

Ok so my build list has grown a bit, this ā€œwhilst it’s in bits I may as wellā€ parts refresh has escaped me - so what started as a faulty shock has now become…

4x Bilstein B8 shortened shocks
Eibach Pro lowering springs
Front 24mm and rear 22mm super pro ARBs with new bushings
Full set of Lemforder front & rear drop links
Audi TTRS front top mounts and RS3 metal reinforced bearings
Audi RS3 aluminium subframe (apparently 7kg lighter than the steel one!)
Anodised turret mount bolts (cos current ones are rusty as..)
New subframe stretch bolts
Powerflex diesel dogbone insert (for new subframe) + new stretch bolt
12mm front and 15mm rear H&R spacers
Extended wheel nuts + 4 new longer matched locking nuts

This was a sensible move right? VALIDATE ME PEOPLE 🤣🤣🤣🤣
Also don’t tell my wife

I went adjustable coilovers so cant comment on most of you stuff however i did fit the Audi Subframe you should also order some shims that sit in between the subframe and the car as there can (and maybe not) be some movement there under power. I got the garage to fit so worth doing some investigation to see if still needed. as I did it on my years ago.

as I have already done it and very happy with the changes I think its very worth while.
