  • Hey Guest👍👎 We're looking for reviews of your local CUPRA or SEAT Dealership - it's quick and easy to do: Leave a review now
I forgot to add. If you are contemplating buying a new Cupra of any model, then ask your dealer sales person if there could possibly be a problem in that your mobile phone wont work with the digital key or smartcard. You do not have to state the model or make. They will probably say, that they don't know, about the problem, but they will know. They must give you an honest answer to your question. You will then have the chance to find out before committing to the deal. If your phone is not compatible you have a good bargaining point for a second physical key! They will not want to lose your custom and see you walk away if you are buying a new factory fresh Cupra model. Also remember you have a choice of where to put your money, and dealing with a good up front and knowledgeable dealer will pay dividends and peace of mind.

If you wanted to be diligent and carry out a little research about the topic before purchasing, you could pop a search through Google along the lines of "mobile phones with UWB technology" and the search engine will provide you with a guideline of potentially compatible devices.

The likes of later generation iphones, some samsung Galaxy series phones and Modern Google pixel phones all offer UWB and NFC required to activate the MDK function.

Older devices or those with "less tech" won't meet the same strict security parameters that the new and potentially more expensive devices do. If the manufacturer opened the function up to NFC only then there would be an outcry from users because of how easy types of that info can be captured and cloned.

It's unfortunately just the way the world is going now. I wasn't happy when I upgraded my phone and my watch was no longer compatible, but I hadn't done the research beforehand had to just bite the bullet and replace it.

I did start a thread on using my Apple Watch and now have it working ok.
It works well for me as I don’t use the car much so can just jump in if needed and drive it.
When we go away the wife has the key in her bag so all good.

Luckily, here in Croatia, the Raval comes with two physical keys, but I guess they compensate for that with the lack of a charging cable, which doesn't matter in my case since I'll be charging at home, and for that, I need to buy an adjustable portable charger.

I'm assuming this is an Android phone issue ?

I'm hoping my Iphone 17 should work OK 🤞

"Ultra Wideband (UWB) is supported on all iPhone 11 models and later, except for the iPhone 16e and iPhone 17e.
According to the Apple Support Guide, Apple divides these devices by the generation of the UWB chip they contain:

Second-Generation UWB Chip

• iPhone 15 models (iPhone 15, 15 Plus, 15 Pro, 15 Pro Max)
• iPhone 16 models (excluding iPhone 16e)
• iPhone 17 models (excluding iPhone 17e)
• iPhone Air
• iPhone 18 Pro and iPhone 18 Pro Max"
Yes, iphone 11 Pro Max does have the UWB chip. It's lucky, and quite by chance, that my good lady found out hers was that exact phone. But I did stick out for a second key with my dealer and got one!
