I think they definitely have a futuristic look to them, but I’m not sure whether they’ll be a design that grows on me or one that I’ll always prefer other options over.

Would you go for these, or would you choose a different wheel design if you had the option?

I'm not a big fan of them tbh, the green bits or the clip on covers, even though I have a VZ extreme on order. There should be more options on alloys!

I am looking at changing my order to an ABT edition, those alloys are far nicer imo.

Not keen on them I'm afraid, too much going on for me. Seen a few VAG cars with the clip on plastic covers, mainly VAG and Skoda, they don't look great IMO and I would be surprised if they helped range/mpg by more than a miniscule amount.

The Skoda Karoq Sportline is a good example, pop them off (our local dealer does, even the new showroom one has them in the boot) and the alloys are actually really nice,

I can see where you're coming from! The green detailing is certainly quite a bold choice, and I think the clip-on covers will divide opinion. More alloy options would definitely be welcome!

The ABT Edition wheels do look fantastic though. It'll be interesting to see how many people stick with the standard VZ Extreme setup versus opting for the ABT. Have you seen them in person yet?

That's an interesting point about the Karoq Sportline! It does make you wonder how much of the design is there for aerodynamic benefits versus styling. I think the clip-on covers will definitely be divisive, especially when the alloys underneath could look just as good, if not better, on their own!

It'll be interesting to see whether CUPRA offers more traditional wheel options as the Raval range develops.

You can remove the plastic covers and it looks nicer imo, what I plan to do with mine VZ Fiord Blue and copper Rebel tyres.

Videos with cover removed:

I was not that much of a fan of the Vandal tyres either which were an additional 850€ here and Icon² tyres are only offered with performance tyres with the significantly shorter range. So yea had been nice with more options although Rebel copper with covers removed is close to what I prefer eitherway with more traditional alu black rim design and the subtle copper accents goes along well with front copper stripes and rear copper stripes on the diffusers (that basic VZ model has).

As an alternative I might try paint the covers darker to match surrounding plastic fenders, for me its the lighter grey color of the covers which provide a mismatch color to anything else besides perhaps Plasma color that is the issue besides making the tyre look one size smaller.

No, are there any ABT editions in the uk yet?
Dont get me wrong, the Extreme is overall a nice package, which I picked for the seats and extra tech, just not sure on the wheels.

I think the plastic trims will go with the plasma paint I've picked, but as RPGWiZaRD says, they can be removed and probably look better.

Especially this video at 0:22 shows the dramatic percieved difference in size when removing the cover

Its like an optical illusion 😅 I swear it instantly grows one size bigger.
