The Diagnosis/ Excess of Pollution light has just lit up on my dash. What does this light mean is it going to cost me.

£££'s... depends on what has caused it. Mine lit up when the coil-packs failed, took it to the main dealer, they replaced them now it's fine.

Chist these cars dont half get through coil packs. seems to be a common fault with all at some point.

I know the ones on mine were done but that sounds like a damn good idea if its a frequent thing to go. kinda like the spare clutch cable i kept in the boot of my 5 turbo many years back.

The car was 2yrs old when the fisrt 2 coil packs failed then 6 mnths later the other 2 coil packs died. The horn has also been replaced twice under warranty - kept filling up with water:confused: - died again so replaced with two tone and placed higher!

Hey at least the leons horn isnt that girly lol. my old type r's horn was that effeminate i would rather run someone over than warn them and be laughed at

engine management lights

could the same prob that i had mine turned out to be a brake pedal switch i know it sounds stupid but the switch has 2 circuits 1 for the brake lights and one which triggers the engine management light, if it was your coil packs your car would be misfiring

Jacko - As you can probably tell from this thread, that light can mean any number of things. It's not a specific warning light, it just warns you that you have a problem that you need to have looked at. Sometimes it can be a temporary sensor fault, other times it can be much more serious, so get it looked at!

ok thanks. It seems to be running fine theres no problem there but ive got it booked in for them to have a look at

Mine also has this "pollution" light problem which ive been running around with for a few days.... I havent noticed it running rough but sometimes it is hesatant starting when warm... Could i be seeing the start of a coil pack failure??

Thx and hello to all on the forum :)
