What does Leon - 1P and 1M actually mean??

Bit of an pointless post but its been bugging me for ages just want to know what the 1M and 1P actually stand for?? Will sleep better once i know

Its the car model code.

1M =mk1 leon
1P = Mk2 Leon
1Z = Mkv golf
B7 = Last shape A4
B8= new shape A4
etc
etc
