exactly, i also agree with the above, i think the throttle response is tightened, much more touchy

pipe down, was a joke

and there is nothing skilful about having to shift through 7 gears, its just inconvenient. the manual is there to manipulate the automatic, I wouldn't consider ever using it for 100% manual driving.

Pipe down! PMSL thats something that scabby matelots do at bed time isnt it?

Inconvenient if your feeling lazy. Well hey best I bow to your experience. Anyway havent heard the insult "bender" since the 80's. Old Skool

oh dear brendan, lets not get carried away high jacking this thread with emotions shall we. if you'd like to have a cry send me a pm.

You're all fools.

It's developed purely for noise and oil burning in the winter!

My attempt at comedy:)

Don't use it, revs to high and you even always seem to be in the wrong rev band.....and it just sounds like it's hurting the car (I know it's not)....manual for me :)

Plus 's' mode seems to forget I have supercharger....which I like to use..... ;)

I drive alot of b roads about 50miles with straights and corners... I don't find S mode very useful seeing as it is always on the turbo section and revs the nuts out of the engine, although i do like it when it blips the throttle when going down a gear.

I mostly use paddles and in D mode.

Only timer I use S mode is to overtake and then knock in back in to M or D. Its completely useless otherwise.

perhaps from a stand still but there is no doubt that whilst moving, chucking it into S mode absolutely gives you more kick, this is exactly what i do when overtaking, put it into S few seconds before moving out, get the right gear to have the revs around 4500rpm then drop the foot and go round as many cars as i want.... i couldnt do that in D, the drop down takes too long and isnt safe for over taking

Totaly agree!

Only really used it on the 1/4 mile, no use at all on normal roads. that's what manual is for as far as i am concerned.

When you knock the gearstick into +- mode the revs rise so I just use the paddles from there as it feel's like the throttle response is quicker aka S mode but your in total control of the gear changes unlike being in full auto S mode.
