weight is the enemy
So today the wife reported strange things going on with the car? Overheating one minute fine the next and then noises coming from "the front"

Having had problems with the fans before (as most people who have owned an LCR for any length of time will relate to!) I suspected them first.

This is what I discovered on uncovering the main fuses on top of the battery.

As you can see the middle fuse has blown. I suspect this will be the fuse that protects the fans but can anyone confirm this and does it connect to anything else?

I will replace it in the morning but I fear the NIME unit I fitted a few years back to control the fans has failed.

Any advice welcome

looks like fan fuse
possibly fan or control unit fault
also check that fuse box as they can melt

Yep definately fan fuse. I've also discovered the inline fuse on the NIME unit has blown which could be the cause of all this. Just need to replace these and make sure the fans are working ok. It always worries me when fuses blow like this as there is normally an underlying cause.
Perhaps one of the fans is knackered.
We will see :(
