Hi,

Just bought the liscence and plugged interface into the car (98 ibiza 1.9tdi) and it came up with:

Chassis Type: 6K - Seat Ibiza
Scan: 01,02,03,08,15,17,25,35,56

Address 01 -------------------------------------------------------
Controller:
Note: Excessive Comm Errors

Skipping Address 15-Airbags

Address 25 -------------------------------------------------------
Controller:
Note: Excessive Comm Errors

End -------------------------------------------------------

anybody got any ideas why?

cheers

It bought the liscence because when I first plugged it in, a message box came up saying, too many errors to list, buy full liscence.

Have you been here yet?

http://ross-tech.com/vag-com/faq_2.html#2.4

Have you contact the seller of your diagnostic hardware yet?

It bought the liscence because when I first plugged it in, a message box came up saying, too many errors to list, buy full liscence.

There is no message box in VAG-COM which does say that. Most likely you misunderstood something, because we always say that buying a license explicitly does NOT fix communication issues.

No, but you can do an outright upgrade where we take your existing license fully into account.

Hi,

Went away and boughtI a Genuine Ross tech Key-com interface, I have a liscenced version of Vag-com 311-2 and . My car is a 1998 Seat ibiza 1.9 tdi.

When I carry out a Port test the following message comes up:

Com port status: OK
Interface status: 0 - Found, Ready
Fast sync compatable: No

If I run an auto scan it just comes up with the message END

And if I scan the engine control module it comes up with the following message:
Vag-Com: init controller

No responce from the controller
Retry?

Any ideas what is wrong?

sounds like you have a problem with the diagnostic plug on your car? is it a mk 2 ibiza or mk 3? if it is the one with big screen radio, then remove radio and disconnect it and try it then, common for the radio can-bus to cause problems. if it is the ibiza before the facelift then try doing it with lights, blower, heated screen on e.t.c. also check that all your fuses are ok and diag plug one is fitted.
