hi,
i'm wanting to change my number plates (front & rear), and was wondering is your football team badge allowed....
if so, is it classed as a legal plate or show plate if you do.

i'm going to have legal writing for the licence plate but want my football team as a badge on the side... just don't want the old bill pulling me for illegal plates.

are you sure about that?
i've seen new cars with that bloody eu logo..
so its only national flags....eng,scot, wales ,ireland...
tbh even seen a fair few arsenal ones as well.....does that mean that their all driving with illegal plates?

as far as i know now its euro flag and gb letters only

national flags are not allowed anymore got banned recently

Just looked it up....

The Government announced on 28 December 2001 the intention to permit the display of national flags and national identifiers on vehicle number plates. The Road Vehicles (Display of Registration Marks) Regulations 2001 are in the process of being amended. They will provide for the voluntary display of the Union flag, Scottish Saltire, Cross of St George and Red Dragon. Football team crests etc are not allowed.

oh bugger....thanks for the info dpj

could i have this

damm... why are us brits so boring...oh well thats that idea out the window then.

confused by that mate....?
there isn't any room to put anything next to it....

whilst out and about today i have loads of cars with extra bits on the number plate and none of them were of national flags/eu badge....

might speak to the old bill about it to find out if its a pullable offence?
cause really like the one i designed...

Yes, FC badges on your plates is illegal, and the Police will tell you it's a pullable offence. It's a £30 fine, and the ones you've seen just haven't been pulled yet, or they have and just ignored the warning because they love their chosen team so much.

Theoretically it could fail your MOT. Depends if you have overzealous nitpicker for a tester or a copper just getting a service at the same time.
Here, here, and here give examples. The last one is a little more sinister as the damn thing is on Flicker. But it is a Volvo v70 so I expect they think they are immune...
