my cam belt went yesterday and as the rest of the car isnt in good condition im asuming its not worth repairing

thanks greg

I'd get it repaired if it were my car, should only cost around £600:

complete 2nd hand head £200
pressure test and skim £50
Timing belt kit £100
Head gasket set £75

Then about 6 hours labour.

It would be quite a reasonable repair rather than scrapping or breaking it.

hmmm thing is the car in its condition is probably worth 1k max... the air con is shagged, the roof liner, interior and sun visors are burnt/smoke damaged and there is about 500 pounds worth of dents in the body work.

iv just found this... http://www.karightcentre.co.uk/307964/used-cars.htm

its exactly the same as mine but in pristine condition, i was thinking buy that, swap my coilovers from mine and cupra r alloys on to it , take that gay spoiler off and the end result is id have a fully working bk to normal car

then id scrap the old car.

If it's in as bad condition as you say, it doesn't sound like much could be sold. With dented panels, a knackered engine and smoke damaged interior, I can't think what else is left! :)

If it's the blue one you wanted to link to, that is far from pristine condition. Have a look at the interior pictures, that almost looks like water damage or some other staining. I think I'd prefer the smoke damage!

You're right about the spoiler though, in fact I'd almost be tempted to lose the extra bits all round!
