As entitled, what do use in your PD 160 engine? Planning to do oil change soon, curious to know what others are using.

Thanks.:)

Oh.. and PD160 engines.. the early ones anyway have 2 options for the oil filter element. So mine had a long thin Mk3 one.. but dealer (and others) gave me the short fat one. So be careful with the filter packaging and oily finger prints as you may need to swap it. If you do.. just put old filter back in, change oil, get the right filter and fit it a couple of days later.

i use uniparts top quality fully synthetic when i serviced my on thursday. It met vw 507. They gave me the wrong filter too my one has the long filter. It might be worth popping the filter out before buying one to make sure what one you have got.

Thanks for the advice regarding the filter element. My car is 57 plate, one of the later Cupra TDi s. Would this mean I should have the short stubby one, or longer one?

TBH .. not sure. I would guess short stubby;
My 2005 Cupra Tdi takes the thin oil filter.
Short stubby with stalk up the middle = 071115562A made by Purflux as L267A. Cost £5.12+Vat in 2007.
Long thin with hole in middle =Ibiza 3 tdi filter = 074115562 made in Germany and Purflux L291.

It is easy enough to pull cover and do the oil filter later if it is the wrong one, just make sure you keep the packaging tidy if you want a refund.

Just checked it, turns out it is the long thin one I need. Ordered oil and filter from Opie the other day...sod's law brought me the wrong one!:(
